I agree, but like, surely you can see why someone would be confused/annoyed that a line that has done such a great job up to this point at matching the cartoon's headsculpts suddenly got a toy of a major character that, for whatever reason, broke the streak.
What the hell Hasbro? This figure is already in the packaging stage so it\'s going to ship sooner rather than later. Hasbro\'s marketing is really weird lately when we are seeing figures hitting store shelves before being officially announced. I wonder if this will be a similar situation where we won\'t even get preorders for these things before they hit?
Looks real good to me! Really like how the bot legs don't end up as chonky as Cheetor's, and LOVE getting the gut gun. Well done - two, please!
Not sure, i do know that jtprime found listing for him in april or may. And apollux has seen low res images of the figure.(both very reliable leakers) So we can safely assume terrorsaur will be out soon.
Instabuy. Tarantulas may be my favorite BW character full stop, but Tigatron is easily my favorite Maximal and it's fantastic to see his likeness so faithfully reproduced here. I can just hear Blu Mankuma's voice coming from that facesculpt. There's pretty clearly some shared engineering between him and the Deluxe Cheetor mold (the legs are exactly the same, just bigger to accommodate for a Voyager) but the torso transformation is completely different and the final tiger mode looks suitably bulky. Also he's got the gut gun! And to top it all off he's just as tall as he should be, at least by my estimate. So glad Hastak stuck the landing on this one. What he does with his toys is his business.
The mold is again fantastic here, and he looks good overall, but that off white crap on the animal mode looks terrible and doesn't flow well either. Would have much rather seen some silver paint apps than that yellowing. Also makes Cheetor look bad for not having the blue on the legs properly (not even mentioning some gold). If TakaraTomy ever gets a chance to paint these up properly we will be in for a treat.
I'm going to be much more nitpicky than usual. I like everything but the tiger head - it looks a little dollar store for the rising cost of Hasbro plastic. And less of a concern is how skinny Tigatron looks in beast mode, but it's still an aesthetic gripe I have. His robot mode is spot on though; now I'm debating whether I actually want to spring for his MP instead.
I guess that larger size and additional engineering afforded by the Voyager class means he can have his gut-gun! Nice I was a bit worried when I saw the art showing a whip, but then it turns out he has both, wow Looks good. Seems to be missing his wee moustache, but beggars can't be choosers. Hasbro would only mess it up at that size
Except the japanese dub pretended there was no romance until they literally couldn't...and then turned her back into a female for the manga. Still better than Nightscream who they turned into a gay joke.
The night before last, I dreamt of various cool movieverse toys and woke up to a lame BB/Stinger reissue. Last night, I dreamt of a Tigatron reveal and woke up to exactly that. Hazzah! Honestly, he's exactly what we had been told he was; Cheetor but done right. I'll say the colouring doesn't look the best and I feel the fur sculpting could be a bit better (felt the same about Cheetor) but overall, it looks good. Was never expecting weapon storage, since so many other Maximals skipped it.
