Galvatron would look better if his face was bigger, but that Rodimus is honestly just hilarious

I'm beginning to think that Galvatron's design is just really hard to translate to 3D.
Rodimus, I'd file under "not my thing" but he looks decent and I can see what they were going for, Galvatron just looks like crap. That starfish mask is even worse then the TR one.

These are some awesome looking figures clearly based on Studio Ox designs. It especially pops on that Galvatron.

I'm glad fans of the Studio Ox aesthetics are getting a bit of love. These aren't my cup of tea but it's nice seeing Rodimus and Galvatron in another form.

These are interesting with a certain cool factor.

I don't think these are for me tho.

That Rodimus looks kinda cool. I like the tubing connecting the arm pipes to the arm. I have a soft spot for Studio Ox's Rodimus, even though I prefer the traditional Rodimus.

That Galvatron is hideous though. I don't like the Studio Ox Galvatron, too exaggerated in some spots and not exaggerated enough in the spots that could make it work.

Ox's designs are hit and miss for me basically. I'm not sure if I'd be willing to get the Rodimus, kinda depends on his price and when he's supposed to come out, but I do like the look of him.

Honestly more interested in seeing that Megatron in the back, if they’ve improved his face. The rest of him was good.

Exactly. It always has, and always will bother me that "3rd Party" has been applied to Fanstoys, XTB, MMC, etc. These are "knockoff" companies, plain and simple. They take someone else's IP and make their own unlicensed products based on it. That's the very definition of knockoff. Something resembling an official product, but not an exact copy.

Black Mamba, THF and others who straight up copy toy designs are "counterfeit" manufacturers. They are not knockoffs. You could also call them "bootlegs". Which also isn't right, but closer than "knockoff".

I presume it was BBTS who started using "3rd party" so they didn't have to have the unscrupulous word "knockoff" on their website. Everyone else just ran with it. (If it wasn't BBTS, it was someone like them; that's just where I first remember seeing it)

If Action Toys was contracted by Bandai to make Machine Robo products, then they are the very definition of a 3rd Party manufacturer. And I am pretty sure they were. There is no other reason why the Cy-Kill face would have shipped separately as it did if this line was unlicensed. Bandai doesn't have rights to the Gobots names and so probably not the cartoon likeness either.

    ----

But as to the topic at hand, these are pretty badass. Not for me in the least, but badass nonetheless.

Meh. The first three had great G1 aesthetics, but these seem to go the opposite direction with that ugliness OXwhatever style.

    What a letdown. Money saved.

For anyone else that didn\'t know, I looked up Optimus and it cost $1300 at BBTS at one point.  No freaking way are these anywhere near that cool IMO.

Looks like some swappable parts for Hotrod, how bout some for Galvatron. Not digging the enormous helmet or pauldrons. From the 1st pic these look to be pretty big. They are poseable right, not statues?

Machine Robo is a passion project for them. I don't expect it to go anywhere. It's just a guess, but I think the couple releases we get each year is so they can keep the license. They likely don't sell as well as other things, so they can only justify doing them occasionally.

Yup. I think this might be the first decent figure the Studio Ox Galvatron design has ever had. The only other one I can think of is this terrible looking vinyl figure.

They look like they were from a 1987 Super High-Breed Model.

The only thing left for them is to make two Galvatrons. One version has a translucent orange "lava bath", and the other has a royal blue.

P.S However, the newest figures also have Bay`s insignias[IMG]...

And there should be just anime (true) insignias for them!

Jeez, that's freaking BEAUTIFUL. If I bought non-transforming TFs...
