In no way was She-ra a hit. It did ok. And the toy sells were so bad stores stop selling them.

I really don't get this "they only have six episodes to wrap things up" and "the episode count limits the storytelling," like there's actually a story being told. I watched Siege and ER and I can't honestly tell you what the plot of this trilogy has been. There's no story, just things happen. No characters, just people who speak. No emotion, just painfully slow dialogue saying really, really dumb things.

I honestly struggle to understand what I'm supposed to get from this show. Where is the entertainment value? A good plot? Good characters? Good action? There's just nothing here. There's no story, no meaning, just things happening. I can't imagine Kingdom will be any better, and going off that review (which tries so hard to avoid outright calling it terrible whilst clearly describing a terrible show) this is yet another six episodes of nothing.

Netflix gave the show five seasons. You're lucky to get a second season with Netflix and super lucky to get a third. You don't have to like the show or even think it was any good but you can't argue that it wasn't a hit for Netflix.

This sounds great! reading through this thread is making it sound like the end is coming for transformers as a whole but man I've enjoyed every WFC series so far and watched all of them on normal speed (normally because I have something to do and want them to last as long as possible but that's beyond the point) and I see why people think that it's slow but as part time teacher who puts on animated movies all the time they all feel so fast in comparison to this and I like the slower pace of this as it allows more time for things to happen naturally and not feel liked forced moments in the story. Yes there are definite pacing issues but at what point do we overlook these things for the sack of it being a kids cartoon where they don't want to kill off characters when they appear. The story is also really good, It's Prime's coming to leadership story and we see that throughout the whole series so far, He started as a irresponsible leader who would do anything to try and get a 1 up and take any fight he saw along with walk into an obvious trap. In Earthrise he was smarter and less willing to take a fight and even thought of a plan to do things instead of impulse doing. Along with that he learned with help of Sky Lynx learned that being a leader isn't always about doing what came before you or always following the old ways but trying to do better and move forward. Now with Kingdom I don't know since I haven't watched it but I think we will see Prime become a true leader by the end and learn from his mistakes along with others mistakes.

Here is the other thing about this some people will like it and others wont, that's called human nature and we have to accept that at times. If you don't like it great share that opinion but don't make others feel as if they shouldn't like it either and the same can be said in the reverse.

after watching adventure time and seeing what they can do with 10 minute episodes and an entirely new IP, these netflix shows that get 6 whole episodes and use established characters to tell the blandest, most pointless stories possible feel even shittier. hasbro really wasted the $10 they spent on these shows.

You say that as though they were normal length seasons. It was like Voltron which chopped seasons up and spread them out, but still only had the normal 52 episodes. It wasn’t a short lived series but implying it was long lived due to the number of seasons is a bit inaccurate. It only lasted two years.

Beast Wars had to cycle characters usually not just for toy sales but for expenses. I know it’s a big joke these days to clown on the CGI, but that shit is expensive especially for back then, and the budget meant if a new character arrived then an older one would have to go. The writers made up for this by carefully plotting Dinobot’s final arc to ensure it felt natural when he went.

Yeah, they did care. There was more love in a single episode of Beast Wars than there has been in the entire Prime Wars trilogy and the entire WFC trilogy. These are shoddily made excuses for animation helmed by people who want to be uber dark and gritty because dark and gritty means good to them. The toys are great, so at least we got those out of this shitty deal. These shows feel like a corporate product and that’s really saying something regarding Transformers media. We need to stop these low budget low effort online shows and actually make a quality show. Every other show that has actually aired on TV has more effort put into them, from Energon to Prime to BW.

I don’t know what to say because some really great shit has come off of Netflix like She-Ra and Trollhunters. So why is it that all digital Transformers shows so far suck? What braindead people are okay with letting this go to release?

And this is your professional opinion as Mattel's accountant or did you just stop noticing dolls you already didn't like and assumed it was due to the show not being a hit? And I assume you can show proof Voltron toys did so much better due to it being a better show.

100% on target. Beast Wars' high quality was basically an accident. Nobody set out to make a great Transformers show with ties to G1, that all evolved over the course of the creative process. The key difference between Beast Wars and the WfC Netflix show is that Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio are very talented storytellers who understand how characters work and the Netflix show's writers/creative team apparently don't. You can teach lore, you can't teach skill, at least not fast enough to matter on a currently in-the-works project.

The toys may have been a sub but in no way was the show not successful.

But I guess you people live in a fantasy world devoid of facts lol.

Look for disappointment don't complain when you get it. I'm going in with eyes for seeing Cheetor. I probably was spoilt by Cyberverse treating my fave character well but eh, I'll take what I can get. I watch bad movies all the time so my standards are odd ones.

Netflix pissing away money on a trash show doesn't make it good in regards to quality, it being 'a hit' actually doesn't speak of its quality whatsoever. It can but in this case, definitely not. It could've gotten 10 seasons and that wouldn't somehow make it not a badly written dumpster fire of a show.

Not much of a victory to be proud of when the successful show is garbage, and for the record someone liking it doesn't suddenly not make it poor in quality, whereas whether I personally like it or not is not relevant because I'm aiming to judge it from an objective standpoint.

I agree and disagree with this so hard LMAO.

It's 100% on netflix since they throw money at random shows with no pre-established history but I disagree with the skill part.
Skill is 100% taught when doing something and making something. Someone has to teach you that skill prior to you doing it. Not to mention all of these shows have been a year apart from each other with exception to this which I think personally has been made since the beginning along side the other 2. There is a ton of skill involved in making this even close to possible but we only see the surface level skill which we preseve as none.

Ah yes, the old 'I didn't like it so it's not good' take. Very good argument. Very sound. We're all blown away by your objective reasoning.

Bro, you might have interesting criticisms about the show but what's the point of me asking you about that if all you're going to do is just shout as loudly as possible. If folks are turned off by your comment, its not because of its content its because of your tone. Don't blame others if you're not taken seriously.

I got more enjoyment out of revenge of the fallen than siege and earthrise. I honestly doubt that kingdom will be any better and am kinda scared that they'll butcher the beast wars charcters
