With longarm though, I wonder if they'd base the robot mode off the 07 toy or the game model? They were pretty different

Sounds like I’m getting Stratosphere if he comes, then.

What would be the best way to do TLK Infernocus in Studio Series? He was composed of six identical bots that more or less looked like smaller versions of him. Because of their similarities, I can’t really see Hasbro doing individual releases of all of the Infernocons unless they did something similar to Siege Reflector where they released two unique figures (a torso and limb) and then required duplicates to complete the combiner. All of that would probably be super messy, though, so I think a single release composed of fewer members would be much more likely.

Do you think he’d be a Leader Class composed of just two or three bots like the Premier Edition Dragonstorm, or could he be a candidate for Commander Class? I’d personally prefer the latter option, as it would allow him to get all the bulk and detail he’d need to look complete and ensure that he would probably have most of his members.

Honestly if they are actually good no to do an SS Dragonstorm I’d want him to be like the old mega one step just make him one bot who turns into the dragon

Man, Infernocus is one of those situations where I feel that there is just so much working against them.
-you have a combiner, meaning extra engineering/stability isssues
-you have 6 nigh-identical dudes in robot mode, none of whom have gimmicks/personalities, making them hard to sell solo
-at the same time, given that they're a combiner, it would be VERY hard to make 1 mold that you could combine 6 of - you'd need at least 2-4 molds. (but they could be partial remolds)
-they're roughly the size of Optimus, meaning either very big deluxe or voyager scale
-they're not particularly memorable. Not hating, but they don't have the same popularity of ROTF Devastator, for example.

I feel like the only way a decent Infernocus gets made is a box set at Commander size. The 6 dudes as a whole can share a lot of parts, and the two arms/legs would each be pretty similar if not identical. If it came down to it, I'd also be alright if the individuals didn't have alt modes other than combining.

Although a much bigger project, Dragonstorm at least has members who are all relatively unique in appearance, so you could in theory stretch them out like ROTF Devatator and they'd probably sell okay as standalone toys in addition to people collecting the combiner. Only problem being that I don't know if the interest's there for people to buy that many dudes.

It is speculated that the upcoming Buzzworthy 2 pack will contain a rerelease of SS Stinger as well as the old 2014 deluxe High Octane Bee. If this is true, does that mean that the SS version will also be a rerelease of the 2014 one, or will it be a new figure?

With a Transformers/GI JOE movie being "inevitable" would any like to see it feature the return of the Human Alliance figures?

This thread seems kinda dead haha, maybe we should start a new conversation? If Hasbro starts doing "Studio Series Selects", what are 5 repaints/remolds you'd like to see appear? Here are my ideas:

-Cliffjumper or Stealth Bee from SS49
-Smokescreen or DOTM Jazz from 07 Jazz
-any seeker repaints from 07 Starscream, DOTM Thundercracker and KSI Boss
    -Swerve or Darksteel from Sideswipe
-Offroad, G1, or NEST Ironhide from 07 Ironhide (since no one could find the original release lol)

He's not released yet, but I'd love a Dead End or Wreckloose from the SS Sideways mold

Hell yeah, Sideways is for some reason one of my most anticipated figures. The Decepticons need more cars so repaints of that mold would be nice.
A fellow Stealth Bumblebee enjoyer I see. Also Nightwatch Optimus does a good job of being a cool dark repaint without being too "evil".

    For Scrapmetal, too.

Combine with a mainline release of Demolishor and Payload as well as replaced-by-Skipjack Rampage for DOUBLE DEVASTATION!

Blitzwing as Skywarp would look sick. I wish they decided to make Seeker repaints from that mold, but the tetrajet is fine too. Also, now that you mentioned Deep Desert Brawl, you gave me an idea. They could release Brawl in all kinds of camo decos (arctic, urban, night) and call them "Decepticon heavy tank drones" or something. Not a lot of people would actually army build them of course, but I know I'd be tempted to.
I wonder how Devastator would look in those colours.

So I actually think that if Breakaway, Longarm, and by extension Warpath, prove to be successful figures, we will most likely get Revenge of the Fallen Game characters next like Streetwise among others.
    upload_2021-7-22_20-0-13.jpeg upload_2021-7-22_20-0-44.jpeg upload_2021-7-22_20-2-46.jpeg upload_2021-7-22_20-7-35.jpeg

The reason I believe this is not only because they fall under the same umbrella as Breakaway and Warpath by having substantial roles in the video games, but because of some insight on how Hasbro views their status from the character designer of the RotF Game, Ken Christiansen.

In his blog, he outlines the development and design process for all of the RotF Game bots. They’re very interesting reads and I recommend them, but the main point to mention is this quote:

“If anybody remembers the first game, the characters you battled were originally meant to just get a hit of Energon, be able to transform and fight; but not be smart - or Cybertronian. But of course, by the time the movie came out, all that logic was thrown out the window. Mountain Dew, anyone?

That's why I gave them the cyclops eye...so I started with that similar conceit with the Combaticons and Protectobots, until Hasbro told us that these are considered movie-verse characters, and had us go back and revise the heads.”

It’s interesting that Hasbro went out of their way to make that distinction regarding the enemies, and I think the fact that they had them designed as movieverse characters in mind gives it a good chance they could be viable for Studio Series.

Ken Christiansen’s blog is full of all sorts of cool titbits regarding the designs of the bots, here’s a link for those interested:The Bad Flip Blog: TF2 - Combaticon Heads...and stuff

Say breakaway doesn't do well enough to greenlight stratosphere, is there a back up for commander class or would hastak not bother doing any, even for on screen characters?
