Yeah, I think a movie about a fictional brand/movie adaptation would definitely be the way to go since you wouldn’t get in hot water. At the same time I would love to see a movie that makes fun of executive meddling and the idiots who have no idea what they’re doing.

Ironically, the opening bits of the DOTM Behind the Scenes stuff is about trashing ROTF, so they can lead into how they wanted to do better on DOTM. But that's one of the only times I've seen something like that.

Then again, it's Don Murphy... the guy who set up his own forum, promised people that their voices would be heard, nurtured a cult of personality centered around himself, lacked any sense of tact, started silly "wars" with a million people, held a grudge against some of them years later and had his lackeys dox Wikipedia editors who made the mistake of writing about him.

Yes like, my major memory from Don from the time I was on his boards was the moment where I recall him blowing up at a member who was trying to tell him that someone writing an Wikipedia article about him did not constitute "stalking" and he just went nuts. I consider him sane and reasonable on the same level that I consider Watermelons a species of equine.

Don personally attacked me, and because some TFW2005 members saw that and brought attention to it, he subsequently also started a feud with TFW2005 until someone really high up got wind of it and told him to cool it down, so I'm more than a little biased here. :)

Was it Lorenzo or Bay that said Cogman will have headmaster abilities in the film? And was it Lorenzos idea including mini dinos over the actual Dinobots screen time ?

I believe you, I distinctly recall the man himself routinel making threads asking for members to help him harass people online. He was awfully quick to accuse people of "having no life" for someone so fond of steaming angry at random internet people.

Well, I did get a very kind apology from him via email in the end, so I'm not holding any personal grudges. But there was definitely a method to his behavor back in the day.

Didn't he later also have his minions buy stuff for him on eBay because his account got banned or something?

Posted on his (Don Murphy) forum for years, spoke to him a couple of times, he was alright to me and there was a few posters on there who I thought were genuinely great. It certainly kept me entertained during work hours when the boss wasn’t there. I didn’t get involved in that other stuff mentioned by the guys here, I just stuck to complaining like a tedious tool about Primes flames and Megs’ design.

Don Murphy's "Quentin Tarantino doesn't have an original bone in his body" is a funny one too considering how many of his projects have been "trying to grab this one franchise and make it a movie" things.

It must burn this guy's blood to see what a success story Marvel turned out to be after he publicly trashed Jon Favreau, Downey, Iron Man, and MCU all over his forums.

Well deserved for the guy who produced LXG.

The weird thing is that it seems that Bonaventura wasn't a complete fuck up (like he is now) back when he was an executive at Warner Bros. So, what the hell happened?

He noticed that it wasn't that hard to make money out of a poorly made franchise about a talking truck.

I think Lorenzo is being singled out as the source of all evils, because his demeanour, whenever he has talked about Transformers, reflects the soullessness that the movies have very often been accused of (or should I say, are almost synonymous with).

For example, try watching the way that the people from High Moon Studios, who created the Cybertron games, talk about Transformers and compare it with any of his interviews. Of course, looks may not be as they appear, but I believe it is quite evident, how the High Moon guys constantly make deep lore references, dripping with respect and seeming to barely be able to contain their enthusiasm to have the opportunity to be involved with something they love, in a creative capacity.

And on the other hand, you have Lorenzo, quite literally talking like he's trying to sell you a used car and contradicting himself and the end product 9 out 10 times. And, he is one of the main producers of this producer-driven, blockbuster franchise. Easily, the public face for the movies, beside Bay, since the beginning. Doesn't inspire much confidence, trust, or fondness, does it?
