Yeah, yeah. I have the RED Arcee, and I like the figure for display purposes. I'm fond of the Prime Arcee design, and this looks like it to me. I agree the gun hands are 'meh,' but that is the design in the original cartoon. I don't expect to get a good Arcee like this that can transform, so it has a place to me. I'd agree that she could be a lot more articulated.

I think these are highly calculated. Hasbro is feeling it out. These are deliberately spreading out to appeal to different generations of fans. I think they're getting a feel for what mode/era interests the fanbase. Not everyone with nostalgia actually would buy either a Masterpiece or or modern retail toy. They fully expect a bulk of collectors will bark "what? Never!" to these. But they each fill a particular niche. I'd probably get a Perceptor and Shockwave if those were available.

Except for Bumblebee. WTH? For the price point, they should have had two mini bots each three inches tall.

That would've been an instant buy for me. BB and Cliff in the same box? Full articulation with accessories and show accuracy?! Yes! You are speaking my language. In fact, I'd probably gobble up all of the minibots if they came in pairs for that price point.

I've bought the whole line so far so I know what it is. Kingdom Primal got just about everything right, even with a transformation. There is no other standard retail release of G1 Optimus and Megatron or Starscream that are as accurate as the RED figures and transforms like there is Primal. Kingdom Primal is available now, about $10 more, looks about as articulate and detailed if not more than the RED figure. Cheetor is the only one that's close, but I think RED Cheetor still looks a bit better than Kingdom Cheetor.

I'd have considered getting Cheetor but I have an issue with the scale. I'd have displayed BW figures as a group, but it looks odd when they're all around the same size.

Speaking of sizes, I would be absolutely down for RED cassettebots, particularly Ravage and Laserbeak.

Well look at that, another PERFECT example of figures that would be excellent for this series.

Cool and all, but give me a G1 Shockwave or a Prime Shockwave that\'s actually good and not what these past waves have been, especially wave 1, and then I\'ll get some of these( scratch that I do want that Arcee that was released.

Why make a toy of a scene that lasted a couple of seconds where Megatron is reformatted. I dont know what anyone could do with this apart from pose it how he was in the movie and take one photo. The accessories seem pointless for a bot reformatting too.
Primal looks good but for the price you might as well get the transforming one from Kingdom which is super posable anyway.

Seems telling that I assumed Primal was a photo of the Kingdom toy before I read it was a RED figure.

Don't think I'll be getting these figures, or possibly any others. I got the Prime Arcee some time back, which broke. Got all her parts in a box until I get around to gluing her poorly-constructed butt back together.

According to rumors, "Legacy" is the title of the next iteration of the Generations toyline.

I would suspect that a casual passerby that decides to pick up a Transformer, would want that one to actually be able to transform (oops, sorry, "convert").

Kingdom Prime is waving at you. As are Netflix Soundwave and the upcoming Starscream repack.

And yet these are selling well enough to have had three additional waves since the initial launch.

    Funny that.

Why not? Marvel and Star Wars make toys of randos with barely any screen time and they sell fine. See, for example, Dark Side Rey.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, this could literally be a Pretender & Action Master Line that would perfectly complement the Generations lines, and Hasbro would make bank, while also making every collectors dream come true! I'm starting to think that the designers at Hasbro don't know, understand, or care about the history of the Transformers brand, or it's source material, and no longer understands what it's targetted audience is even looking for in new figures. All this double, triple, & qoudrople dipping on the same figures just doesn't make any sense!!

    So, Hasbro.
When are you making RED Nightbird?
    Hasbro:
RED Nightbird??? Unfortunately right now we need to work on things that actually make since for the RED Line. But if the RED Line does well, we might look into making a RED Nightbird...Right after you get your 6 inch Rumble & Frenzy to go with your 6 inch Soundwave, and not before you get your 6 inch cliff jumper, 6 inch Jetfire, & 6 inch Beachcomber to go with your 6 inch Optimus Prime, but definitely not long after you get your 6 inch Grimlock to go with your 6 inch Wheelie, and 6 inch Metroplex to go with your 6 inch Scamper. We are sure they will all look fantastic, and spot on screen accurate on a shelf together, all standing eye to eye. Maybe Grimlock can ride on Wheelies back, And maybe Soundwave can even slide into Rumbles chest! Yes we at Hasbro know exactly what we are doing!
Now we must get back to work!:horse:

There's a ton of differences between these figures. Soundwave, Prime, and Screamer in the RED series are accurate to the cartoon with basic shapes, details and curvature. Netflix Soundwave, Starscream, and Prime really don't actually look like the cartoon. I mean, they are unmistakably the characters, but their silhouettes and details vary greatly from the cartoon. Straighter lines, boxier shapes, more sculpted detail, etc. Just bring up some comparison shots if you want.
