The other issue I should mention is the pacing of the anime is off compared to the manga. Some events are dragged out for too long in anime form while others are too quick.

It's not denial, those were not in the ending when I read it.

They don't get to George Lucas their ending just because it's cool.

 

They didn't GL it, it was cut because of the editor and for time. The final volume will have the extra pages, so it is the official ending.

I guess we'll have to see what the anime does because that will determine if that ending is official or not. Frankly, I do think it's bullshit either way to change the ending after it has already been released. If it was cut by the editor, it means they found it terrible and it didn't belong there.

Was the ending not great? Yes. Am I still looking forward to seeing everything leading up to it animated? Of course. Is seeing The Real Eren animated going to be fucking hysterical? YES!

Truth is that the ending has completely overshadowed all the other stupid crap that happens in this arc.

The pigs, the blood tests that can tell what race you are, Levi just completely forgetting/not caring that Annie is the one that killed his squad (and implied-to-be fiancée), Hange ragequiting life, the SC sitting on their butts making stew, and brushing Connie's mom's teeth while Eren destroys the world, the swimming colossal titans, Reiner taking a nap during the apocalypse, the Gabi no-scope, the Floch shenanigans, Pixis continuing to drink even though it's literally going to turn him into a titan, Zeke trying to convince Eren to let their race go extinct because their dad was a bad person, Eren's memetic PATHs face, etc.

My point is that even if they change the ending, there's still enough stupid stuff to enjoy and laugh at.

They’re really dragging it out. I guess the rumors of the 12 eps ending at 131 and a movie covering 132-140 is looking more realistic

 

That explains why the part of the 12 episodes on the Wikipedia article is gone. What chapter is the anime on now anyway?
