I've always thought the way Primal's forearms flow into his fists is an integral part of his design. That's my biggest gripe with the Kingdom figure, as they completely botched those wrists.

Funny how they gave Primal his proper red hips in the R.E.D. figure line, but not on the Kingdom Voyager. :sly2:

RED has been such a disappointment overall, and I was one of the people excited for the line. :/

I kinda like the idea behind the Megatron figure, but that's really it.

How do we feel about this color scheme on Galvatron...it seems like a possibility. RED figures07.jpg

I love the extremely obvious plastic stress mark on one of the connector pegs for Primal's swords.

I don't get what they are doing with the Beast Wars RED. Like, every other figure is going for extreme screen-accuracy in a way you can't do with the transforming ones...

And yet, the Beast Wars ones are going for... something else entirely? Like, give me a masterpiece-esque figure with high level of articulation and I would straight up by it. ESPEICALLY a Dinobot figure, which even Masterpiece can't qutie get perfect. Even Primal could be improved upon with a RED, like all the gaps that exist on MP Primal because of transformation, which are totally forgiveable because it's transforming... but a nontransforming one without those gaps? Sure. I'm down.

Why is this what they are doing for every other figure? I doon't get it.

I'm not convinced that Primal has more articulation than the Kingdom version.

I think that’s the problem with the entire line, they’re just rehashing old characters who have superior versions running parallel to them in different lines. I can appreciate certain ones like Arcee, but I wish they’d use the opportunity of no transforming gimmick to tackle more obscure characters who are in need of more toys, but I guess those wouldn’t sell, which is also understandable.

That Primal is easily the most useless figure of the line. I guess he looks fine, but for a little more you can get Kingdom version which looks to actually be better in just about every way. Megatron is neat, but no necessary.

That Optimus Primal looks cool. Just like the Kingdom version which can transform! Wait...

This line had my attention initially but for some reason they just want to do repeat characters instead of ones that would actually benefit from this format. The Thirteen, AOE Optimus/Galvatron, Action Masters and Pretender shells all come to mind before Optimus Primal as characters who could actually use a non-transforming toy.

    >Hasbro make kingdom primal different from show model by giving him a hair texture on all the black sections
    >Hasbro has another shot at primal, this time non-transforming- they can make it look like the show model, smooth black sections and all
    >Hasbro makes it look like kingdom primal but with a silver faceplate (???)
    >it has visible scuffs in the promo shots

They're not going to launch a brand new line with nobodies. Even Studio Series lead with Bee, Prime, and Grimlock when it launched a few years back. You lead with the big names to build the brand and then as you run low you find ways to cycle them back in and mix in the more obscure names/faces.

You can say literally the same thing about anyone in the RED line. The whole point is to offer something different from the transforming line. They're like Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black where you can get even closer to "accurate" because you don't have to come up with ways to tuck in kibble.

even given the limited appeal of non-transforming transformers, this line is straight up a hot mess: total mish-mash of styles & aesthetics (Sunbow Prime/Meg/Starscream, not-sunbow Bumblebee, CHUG/WFC interpretations of Beast Wars, Animation accurate (I guess?) Prime Arcee), no sense of scale from release to release (massively oversized Bumblebee), quality and detail of sculpts, poor distribution and a Walmart exclusive to boot...

when you look at how they've handled Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe Classified and then this, it just makes no sense what they're going for here.

I have a paradoxical thought here. I think this line is perfect for very specific one off homage decos like this reformatting Megatron, but that requires you to make a Megatron mold for line in the first place, which is the thing that seems like a waste.

That Megatron might be the laziest thing I have seen from the R.E.D. line. If you're going to put grid lines on the figure go all in or not at all.

So that's what they were saving the red thighs/hips for... Looks like a cross between the MP and Kingdom Primal!

I like the beast era figures well enough. Not enough to own them but they look the part to me. I do think it would be cool if they went all in on the theme and added highly articulated beast modes to the line up. Maybe offer the set as a two-pack of beast and bot mode together. That may seem redundant with the new Kingdom figures but when I say highly articulated I mean going all out like that new Timber in the Joe line.

In regard to Megatron, I would rather see a reformatting MP-36.

TF Red: Can I copy your HW bro?
Kingdom: Sure just don\'t make it obvious
    TF Red...

Joke aside the Cheetor looks great and I have it on display instead of the Kingdom. I\'m not sure if the Kingdom primal is just that good, or if the Red Design is super lazy. Probably a bit of both but Primal seemed like such an odd choice for this line anyways
