It really is impressive, especially at this scale. I can't believe how well sculpted his face is. The shoulders are a bit large but I can deal with them. Fantastic figure

There's something to say about the core class, for how amazing and well engineered the deluxe/voyager and leader assortment is I still have to put them back on a shelf or away because they take up too much space, but these guys and their charm can just chill on a desk and not bother anyone.

I was only going to get Core Starscream but I couldn't resist since Megs was right there. The legs on mine are a little loose but he still poses great. I call him Minitron and he's in charge of my Voyager Decepticon army. I wish I could get a scale-up ray and make him Voyager sized because he really is a great figure.

Finally saw him and picked him up and... honestly hugely disappointed.

Firstly he feels... not quite solid. Not loose, but not solid. In either mode, really. Feels like mold degredation but obviously not the case. Not a fan of the shoulder joints in particular due to the way they're integrated and the kibble.

I do have to say the paint apps are amazing.

But... his weapons. I knew the tank barrel would be bad in tank mode (either undersized without the pistol attached or spindly and pistol-shaped with it) but I wasn't prepared for how dinky the fusion cannon looks in robot mode. It's a bad look. And even with the pistol added on in tank mode it's pretty dinky.

And weapons aside the tank mode is... really bad. Okay, the completely unhidden feet was something I knew going into it but how damn gappy the tank is isn't good. The weird gaps between the turret and main body are one thing, but the huge gap from above between the legs are terrible.

Plenty of TFs look bad from the bottom but this one looks really bad if you look at it from above.
I don't... regret getting it but honestly really disappointing. I had high hopes after Soundwave who was everything I wanted but this is ehhhhhhhh.

Picked this guy up for €5 yesterday, and while I'm quite pleased with him, I'm glad I didn't pay any more than that. He's a fun little Megatron, although my copy is a little loose in the legs. He looks great with core Optimus too. I'll definitely be keeping them on my desk to mess around with while I work

Megatron looks good with Cliffjumper’s cannon in tank mode. I gave Megatron’s gun to Starscream. I don’t care for Cliffjumper having his cannon.

I agree there should have been a shield to cover the gap in tank mode.

Enjoying the little bugger. The only thing that bums me is the rear of the tank won't stay pushed in both sides. Even once I've finagled it straight it very quickly comes back out of alignment. Everything is tabbed in correctly, but it just won't behave.

Did you tab in the inner ankle area as well? Each leg tabs in at 2 places.

Same. I bought in to the hype and feel that Megatron is the worst out of the four. Not a bad figure by any means, but not great either. Vehicle mode didn’t feel as solidly pegged together as Starscream, and I dislike the obstruction of those shoulders.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have those all tabbed in. Adjusting the front treads backpack seems to help a little though, but things are still slightly off at the back. It's unfortunately just 'slightly' enough to rankle my OCD.

Got him on sale today. I really dig him. A cool desk toy for sure. Might even get the filler sets and the mace. I was not really interested in new versions of main characters in the Core class. But know I will try to get an Optimus to go along with Megs. Finally my Ark has something to crush with its hands ^^

Soundwave is super fun too. It's just a shame that teeny tiny cassette Ravage doesn't transform.

I hadn't thought of doing that.

Optimus is nice too, though better in robot mode than vehicle mode (the truck cab looks a little bit oddly proportioned because it's so tall). I just wish his gun didn't have a sort of two-tiered size on the handle because it means you can't get it pressed all the way down into his hand. So he's always holding it in a way that looks like he's grabbing the very bottom of the handle away from the main body and it's kind of awkward.

It's the same issue that Megatron has with his little pistol. For reasons i suspect relate to the transformation, Soundwave doesn't have that issue with his gun, nor does Starscream (though mostly because Starscream's null rays are meant to stay on his arms.)
