Admittedly it's very cool to see Minerva star in anything.

 

I’m looking forward to reading it, but I will say the creative decision to give this particular team an art style more on the cheerful side is a curious one. It makes the project more intriguing for me, from a sorta experimental perspective.

 

Wrong visual tone for a Wreckers piece. Looks like an episode of Paw Patrol.

 

I think IDW1 was undoubtedly a casualty from the latter half of MTMTE and Lost Light. Absolute dumpster fires.

 

Thunderclash was Ace Rimmer from red dwarf. He was a joke. All bravado but never actually seen. It’s not that he was a casualty of the series cutting short. He was gag character.

This is either a tongue-in-cheek bait and switch for a gorefest, or someone has the complete wrong idea of what the Wreckers are supposed to be about. Either way I don\'t feel confident about it.

 

It's been said, but that's likely the point. This isn't trying to be or meant to be LSotW Redux.

 

The art and story don't appeal to me, but that's fine, I hope it ends up being good. And hey, if this is how we get new toys of Thunderclash, Minerva, & a new Stepper, I'm all for it!

 

Which would be for the best since I doubt the current writers could come close to making something as amazing as LSotW or its sequels.

 

It’s three pages without the dialogue boxes. I’d hate to see what the reactions would be to only seeing the pages of last stand of the wreckers where they were standing around around a room with Ironfist talking like a fanboy to twintwist and topspin with topspin saying maybe he should change his name to stop secret.

If that was a joke, then Roberts forgot the punch line, because we never actually saw Thunderclash fail to live up to his reputation in the story. However, we DID get a variant cover of Thunderclash cowering behind Tailgate. One of SEVERAL variant covers we got over a short number of issues that depicted events that never happened within the comics themselves.



If this doesn't scream of late-term changes to the plot (which tend to be the product of circumstances out of the author's control more often than not), I don't know what does.

 

you mean the sequels where people on the boards constantly complained weren’t like last stand and should have been and was a waste of time and potential and people figured out the twists in the first couple issues because they were very predictable. Yeah I remember those bitch fests.

 

Wouldn’t be the first time Roberts missed a punchline in his writing plus a lot of UK readers figured out what thunderclash was by his second appearance. I heard it explained about it in a UK podcast. The defunct Underbase where Chris Mcfeely(member here) explained it very well and detailed what thunderclash was

 

1. I don't care what 'people on the boards' bitch about. Doesn't register when I offer my input on anything.
2. Being able to figure out a twist or a story being somewhat predictable doesn't make it automatically bad.
3. Is complaining about others complaining all you do around here? That's all I see you do.

 

This is news to me. You're telling me there were people who hated Sins of the Wreckers just because they figured out Mesothulas was Tarantulas, and not Armada Sideways like some people convinced themselves he was with no real evidence?

...okay then.

 

Truthfully not so much the sequels, I didn't dislike them but you could really take or leave them. But yes, the original LSotW mini was amazing and doesn't need a remake. The fact that it already looks nothing like that book makes this new series seem very promising.

 

I can understand why people weren't as big into the sequels, and to be fair I think Last Stand can be enjoyed on its own, which is a great thing.

 

I'm excited to see what we have here. I see what people are concerned about with how the art looks but I'm willing to give it a shot. It might be a bait and switch situation. Alternatively it might be a different tone but still be good. Reserving judgement till it's released. Also frankly I’m just excited to see Hot Shot and Minerva.
