I don’t know how long you’ve had yours, but something just occurred to me. They’ve been around long enough now that if one were to buy one and it were good right out of the box, I would tend to think it might have a good chance of surviving long-term. If it were going to be defective, I’d think the cracks would be apparent right away. Perhaps someone who bought an official version months after release could chime in.

Mine holds fine - and didn't crumble. Even if it was loose, that's easily fixable - crumbling is not.

Mine’s an early one, bought from someone who had purchased it as soon as it was released. They had transformed it once, realized it just didn’t suit them, and sold it on.

I'd say stick with your FT Hound for now until a legitimate reissue happens that's confirmed with serial numbers and positive QC reviews. The design is superb but the materials and construction are KO-like. It's sad to see that buying an official is just as risky as buying a KO.

They still haven’t fully learned either. It doesn’t seem to be widespread, but my Starscream has the same cracks developing on the wrists. I’m likely going to keep it because the rest of the figure is pretty solid compared to others I’ve read about.

There isn't one. Anything out is just new stock etc. from the original run.

So I recently got the KO from ShowZ, because it seemed like it was less prone to breaking then the official. Almost everyone has had a good experience with it recently, but it seems I drew the short straw... The tire accessory was assembled with incorrect parts so you couldn't even use it. The battle face had glue in the eyes which looked absolutely horrifying. Worst of all, the tabs on the legs were so misshapen that they caused an entire panel to break in half. Not to mention the thighs had splotches of paint with every other color on the figure on them. Guess I'm gonna have to save up for the official...

That’s too bad. The KO I got ended up being pretty decent. Just had a few minor paint blems. Oh and the shoulder tabs required some filing. But for the price I felt it was good value for the product. Have to admit though.
It really makes me want to get the official now. So much so that if I wasn’t planning on buying three seekers this year I’d probably take a chance on the QC lottery on an official MP47 as well. Which gives me an idea.
Has anyone tried using parts from the KO yet to try and repair their official copy?

I would just wait for a fixed re-issue at this point. It's not worth the risk.

There has not been an announcement of a re-issue yet. Some stores seem to be advertising a "2nd run" or similar but I think they are just trying to unload their stock.

It seems to me that there haven't been reissues of any MPs since Sunstreaker which is odd.

Lucky. Well if you ever decide to get rid of him, keep me in mind maybe? I did the same fix on the shoulders for mine. If it weren't for those tabs breaking stuff, I'd probably keep it.

I would not go anywhere near a 1st run of this guy..... not after how mine disintegrated on the shelf.

Now if they made a new run with better materials... then heck yeah. Hound was lovely while he was in one piece.

No reissue, any pre-order you see is of a normal restock.

Next year will be 3 years since release, that's normally the window for reissues. Waiting on a Hound and mp-44 reissue.:)

I got one when Hasbro Pulse had them. The first one arrived broken out of the box and I sent it back immediately for replacement, which they honored. My second copy didn't start breaking until about the third transformation, a week or so in. I tried to exchange it again and was told they are sold out but offered a refund. I kept it and ended up ordering the KO which was awesome other than not having the sharper features face-wise, but I had the originals to work in tandem with it so it's a good placeholder until a reissue comes out.
