The art is the best thing about those sets, IIRC.

Great collection dude! thanks for sharing!

Always liked these feline robots! I might have the Wild Cat somewhere (with no jaw unfortunately)

Yes agreed, it's what got me into collecting these toys!

Even though I don't own them yet, thank you for the support!  These are other sellers photos, just couldn't obtain them sadly:(

Lovely to hear Napjr! Super cool! It's ok the jaw for Wild Cat, does sometimes commonly break if used a lot over time, I got some broken ones myself:mad:  It's what holds his weapon accessory as well:D  Nonetheless all cats are fantastic and the set itself!:)

Always pleasant to see updates in this thread.

Tracking down those very specific box sets could be seriously tricky. I'd suggest poking around eBay a while till you find a Taiwan/Hong Kong/South Korea dealer that carries vintage KOs and reaching out, since it's been my experience in the past that while they might not have it themselves, they possibly know someone who does, even if it takes three or four contacts to get there.

By the way, I think we have an undiscovered Four Star combiner and an alternate name for Four Star, which I've never previously seen.

"Sagitta" here is obviously built like Racetron, but I really noticed the guy in the bottom right... "Carry Can", which I have, but from a Transistor Robots card, sans any accessories! It has a 5(ish)mm hole in the back, which I've always wondered about, but now I have an answer.

So now there's Racetron (retooled Gobots), Sagitta (???, a mix of both TF/Gobots molds AND engineering), and Mr. Hardhat (retooled Constructicons).

This is the first time I've seen half of these figures, possibly because the cards aren't marked for Four Star, but instead "Lon Far". I'm 90% certain they're the same entity (a la Leader Shine and Champion Crown), since the card art is definitely the same artist as the Racetron figures, and the layout's the same on the front and back.

Weird. Anyone seen others from this team, or other "Lon Far" figures?

I remember dreaming about getting a legends-size KO G1 Arcee in a small blister, and I thought that it was real and I was looking for her for 6 years, then I discovered that G1 Arcee was never produced

Arent you thinking of Energon/SuperLink Arcee? The motorbike? some KOs were made of her, in blisters

Comes packaged in Robot mode, although ive found samples on the net, in cycle mode, as well molded in red

Unique Box Art, i dont recall any official products with that drawing, might be original unless someone knows better :)

Rear card, with 4 steps for transformation, different than Hasbro instructions, look at the head!

Includes 2 weapons, a sword and a gun, too tight for the hands

Comparison with G2 Road Pig (Japanese), and a KO Robotmasters Sideways. Missing my RiD (2001) Axer because is stored away

Figure is a straight copy of the real figure, with just a few simplifications (head is one piece, no hole for the electronics). Arms, knees and windshield connector/handlebars, are chromed, but paint is too thick, i was afraid to broke the balljoints

    Foto 29-06-21 14 24 54.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 25 44.jpg

Plastic is decent, but i doubt it can withstand a child for prolonged use. Some pieces had to be trimmed for a flush transformation

    Foto 29-06-21 14 28 37.jpg

Paint scheme is inspired by Road Pig. Has a lateral metallic strip that gives a good detail for otherwise, a bland colorscheme

This mold was copied from the G2 figure, because the handle bars are not modified for Microman Drivers (released in 2000 for that line), so this was produced in the late 90s no doubt

    Foto 29-06-21 14 30 01.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 33 26.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 34 04.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 34 19.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 34 41.jpg Foto 29-06-21 14 35 20.jpg

Knee connectors, ratcheted, makes a nice click, just like the real figure

    Foto 29-06-21 14 36 07.jpg

This sticker seems familiar... ive seen it somewhere, Brave perhaps? No! Armored Police Metal Jack! another Takara toyline from the early 1990s. Surprised to see it here to be honest

It's full size, but it's only the front half of the helmet. Plastic quality is worse than original, but not terrible. It's really more of a mask.

    Very interesting! thanks for sharing!

When i read on FB the news about the new J Balvin Soundwave, at first i thought it was a custom figure made with this old KO from China i had in the late 90s, the colorscheme is identical! although the new one is all molded in yellow, with blue paint and stickers

It came with a solid cassette, and the tape door remolded (I think it said SANYO)

Good plastic, no diecast joints, functional tape door and battery cover, but no batteries/guns. It also came with a long blue sword... and a single missile, remolded with a peg to hold as a blaster. Card had G1 art from what i can remember

Looking at this pic (might be a scan of my figure, i remember doing that before i had a camera), the waist buttons are separate, wich might indicate was made from the early Soundwave molds before that piece was remolded with Soundblaster and later releases

Saddly, its long gone, i repainted into Soundblaster when i started doing customs...

If anyone has one, im interested in buying for nostalgia :)

When that toy came out in Korea, Korean toy company Laratoy promoted Generation 2. I don't know if Laratoy has a proper contract with Hastak, but they used official names like Transformers and Optimus Prime and said they were broadcasting TV shows. After all, the TV show didn't air. There are quite a few strange things like that among the toys released at the time. It's unclear whether it was officially licensed or KO. Many people who entered elementary school in the 90s in Korea still have Optimus Prime pencil cases. It was so weird.

I acquired one of these recently as well or around $45! Such a great KO and basically the only way I'd ever get to experience Landcross. I know the new Haslab is Star Saber but what if... it was MP Landcross... dreams never fade.

In my case, i bought it for $70 at Taobao used market(Xianyu). It's expensive for KO, but it's cheaper than the original, and it seems to sell over $100 on eBay lol It is surprising that neither Hastak nor the 3rd Party are interested in Landcross. If Haslab Saber succeeds, Landcross will have a chance.

It's an inconvenient method, but Taobao and Xianyu sell various KO's. This method has to break through the language barrier and search for various keywords. For collectors, Sirtoys would be the easiest and most systematic place to buy KO.
