it..... didn't, though. the current reconstruction is guessing that it's fairly likely adult T. Rex didn't have feathers, but it's far from settled; we still only have a couple small, sparse patches of scales, far from concrete evidence that the whole body was featherless, and the most recent study that made the completely featherless idea popular again seemed to be actively intending to establish that, rather than just following the evidence where it lead; that doesn't mean their study is bunk, but it does mean they perhaps drew overreaching conclusions given the still incomplete evidence we have
Still wish we had gotten a toy of the Decepticon Dinobot from RID2015, Skowl. I liked his design and character.
...again, yes, the current prevailing reconstruction is featherless, but as i mentioned, that's still far from settled; please reread my previous post
Were it a more realistic T. Rex as a basis I'd want a new mold for a Spinosaurus since more recent reconstructions have revealed it to be very different from T. Rex, but... very outdated depictions are kinda the Dinobots' whole thing, so that'd work great.
I originally thought of using Slag, but the transformation of the tail/leg would require the bone at the end to come off.
I could get behind that. Voyager size with everyone's swords, maybe some other launcher looking weapons.
To put it in human terms, if Grimmy and Slag are 6ft 225pound body builders, i want swoop to be about 5'11" and 150pounds. basically close in height, but much skinnier in comparison. Sludge needs to be slightly taller and heavier so no buddy pack in. Snarl same as Slag.
There are some neat G1 style Scorn fanarts out there. I was just looking the other day. I think it would be super cool Just look at G1 Grimlock vs modern trex understanding. Absolutely awful lmao. But that old fashioned cartoonish silliness is part of what makes the G1 dinobots so fun. I think a retool of Grimlock could make a decent Scorn
