Is he accurate to the movie? No. Is he a fun toy? Absolutely.

 

He gets a lot of flack for being in a line that’s all about movie accuracy, and not being accurate in any way.

 

Waiting on the Twins does nothing but raise my determination.

I wonder how they're gonna do dragonstorm? Just a duocon like the original or are they gonna try for the full 13?

 

I think 13 is too much to make it work, but I can see it being the next project much like Devastator. Possibly 6 or so figures. Then again I didn’t mind the original dragon storm, so maybe something like that with a bit more budget would work.

 

Hope all this sticks because Daytrader is legit one of my most wanted minor/wtf characters. I have the receipts to prove it.

On the topic of SS ROTB figures, my guess is that we're gonna get 1-2 figures around movie release of characters they might've had concept art early for, and the rest come later.
I know SS is all about accuracy and I'm also willing to wait if it means better designed and accurate figures, but from a sales point of view I doubt the hype/momentum related to the movie will still be high 6 or so months after the release of the movie, unless they're returning to a toyline model like the ones of the first 3 movies, with simple deluxes/voyagers/leaders to make up for no SS.

Considering how it looks like SS 2022 is filling out the BB cast, it's clear that we're gonna end up getting a figure of the Camaro Bee from the very end of the movie, which would be easy to retool/remould into his ROTB looks (normal & off-road), assuming they didn't completely redesign him from scratch.
Same goes for OP, especially after finding out that they've basically had that truck model in a toy from the BB Energon Igniters line, but I'm mostly curious about Arcee, if her BB toy will end up being a pre-tool of her bike mode or she'll have 2 completely different moulds.

 

One thing I'm wondering is previously guys like @wreckgar39 mentioned that devcon was a no-go. What changed?

 

With the possibility of SS Commander doing well, he's got a shot for sure. Leader just was not going to happen. That and to spite @Notomus cult I continued to deny the existence of Devcon per sauce's request. He could have been on shelves a d I would say it's a very convincing custom.

 

Anyone else wanting an updated figure of this guy?

 

For sure, I never had him as a kid but I loved that he was deluxe sized yet had an interior (this was before I found out about alternators), and I'd totally buy a SS version if it also has the interior.

I'm wondering how the boxes are going to look like. Studio Series really needs the commander price point.

 

Not sure what a modern version of the mold would look like because it already works pretty well with SS figures

 

I'd love to see Dead End as well. Should be an easy figure to make after they release Sideways.

Out of all the toy-only characters Longarm kinda makes sense, considering he can go alongside a 2007 display (and probably entice you to buy a spare SS bumblebee to take off his legs).
