That's fair if that's the case then the reply is basically "okay then it's not a company thing it's a Transformers thing" so either it's a Hasbro mandate that changed within the last about three years. Or it's the Transformers team being iffy on it. But I think Hasbro/The TF team's clear track record with Deathsaurus and the Breastforce is a pretty good predictor. But it's all moot anyway until such a time as a new Liokaiser is leaked officially revealed.
Did I miss some sort of offical announcement, or has BlackHawkOmega simply jumped the gun in declaring Star Sabre (plus Victory Leo) a confirmed upcoming toy? Last I heard we still had only a tease of something Victory-related coming.
Leakers said Haslab Star/Victory Saber was coming then like two weeks later Hasbro says a Haslab Victory thing is coming.
i will say, knowing about more than a month ahead of the launch date/deadline does help me plan my finances, and set aside the money, and make it more likely to fund this project. Unicron was originally revealed a month and a half before his first deadline. right after a solid chunk of potential backers had just hemorrhaged money at tfcon and sdcc, bought the 500 dollar mp 44, and preordered the selects seacons. that would not be enough time for people's bank accounts to recover enough to buy a 600 dollar figure. Hopefully Hasbro give people more than a month before the deadline for Star Saber.
As for the stretch goals for either of these.... HasLab Lyzack! Cute Hat Lyzack! HASLAB LYZACK! CUTE HATE LYZACK!!
My assumption is that they consider Marvel, Star Wars, and Transformers to be different target audiences. But, as others have pointed out, it's a meaningless discussion because nothing about the *name* changes the figure. We know who it is meant to be, and no one is stopping anyone from referring to it as such. Just like people who use the US/JP names of the Seacons interchangeably when referring to the Selects figures.
Haslab SS. Stretch goals: 1) VL 2)CW-compatible Leozack & Jallguar 3)CW updates of other 4 Liokaiser parts 4)CW style Deathcobra 1 minute after the preorders end: "oops! Only hit tier 2! Hope everyone has the CW Liokaiser set for the 4 limbs!" ...the above has been a work of satire and in no way should be taken for confirmation of anything, just a theoretical "F-you!" from Hasbro
In this hypothetical scenario, would Esmeral be the most obscure figure Hasbro has ever released? Also, what is cute hat Lyzack
I didn't even think about Esmeral. Yeah I really want her to get a figure. Maybe if they decided to release Deathsaurus as a commander class figure, they could give Esmeral an alternate mode, and a gun or some weapon, and release her as a stand alone deluxe or possibly even voyager. Or just make her a repaint/retool of another female figure. That would work too, so long as she sticks decently close to her original look to some extent. I don't remember if she ever actually had an alt-mlde actually.
Commander Deathsaurus would be the best way to go; I can't see a need for a Haslab version of him, considering his transformation isn't that crazy. But hey, I'm just game for a Deathsaurus of any kind.
Star Saber's isn't exactly earth shattering either. It's just that, if reports are true and this is a test of JG1's popularity outside Japan...it's their best most recognizable character. If he can't break through, odds aren't good for anyone else.
Make a female Liokaiser with Lyzack and a set for her to combine with, not unlike Megaempreess/Megatronia
