It was my understanding that the packaging for the combined (all three series) set says Takara Collection in the UK, and Japanese collection in the US. I've just bought from a UK site, that has it described as Region 2, but the artwork they've shown says Japanese collection. Can anyone confirm if I'm correct about the box art differences for Region 1 and Region 2?
a) Which company is the manufacturer of the DVDs? b) If you've bought from a website, a link would help greatly. For the record, this is the 2007 UK Metrodome box set: And this is the 2012 US Shout! Factory box set:
The box art is from the bottom image. Transformers: the Japanese Collection on DVD The description says Region 2, but then the blurb says for "the first time in the US", but figured that was just a copy and paste job. We'll see when they're delivered.
It also says "Shout! Factory", which is a US company. But then it claims these were released in 2020, and are "DVD Region 2 for the UK"? This sound suspicious. EDIT: Buydvdsonline Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of buydvdsonline.co.uk Very suspicious. More than 50 percent negative reviews for that site.
I paid by paypal, so I'm covered if they try mess me around, and I can just set my DVD drive on PC to be region 1 if needs be.
So they arrived. Definitely NTSC/Region 1 despite the big 2 sticker applied to the packaging. So far, looks like they might be legit copies though, and not pirated.
They're definitely pirate copies, but to their credit, they've stripped the region locking, so these discs that say NTSC, play on my PAL PS3.
