New toy company S.C. Toys reveals Masterpiece scale transformer S.C. 01 MUG. What do you guys think.

 

First that legends scales Blitzwing and now this.
It's nice that new companies are stepping into the game, but these aren't on par with contemporary products.
At least the pick-up looks okay.

 

Head is a bit small.

 

Mug needs some work on his mug. And I normally don't agree with ppl when they say the head is too small on figures but the head is too small. Alt mode looks spot on

 

Eh, looks ok. Will need to see more pictures. Can't decide if it looks better than the other two options.

 

The design looks like Deformation Space Blaster. Needs some improvement. But isn't it hard to compete with two of the biggest third party companies like Fanstoys and X-Transbots as a new start they already had Kup. I don't want this one be like Rising Force.

 

These are just first design renders, S.C. Toys says prototype will be coming soon.

 

I mean, as long as it's not complete dog shit it could be a reasonably-priced alternative to FT and XTB's. I'll keep an eye on this.

 

Dig the alt mode if they clean that gap up. Can't tell if that was just a lazy transformation, or if there's problems there. Regardless, it should've been addressed before it was photographed. The bot mode doesn't wow, but I'll still be here for it if they fix his head. Not only is it way too small, but it looks like someone photoshopped Screech over Kups face.

 

This looks like it needs a lot more time in the oven.


Honestly probably not the best idea to start off with a season 3 character, those are the hardest designs to do in MP form.

 

Looks ok. Am totally happy with competition and another option that isn't : dogshit or overpriced

That head is horrible.

 

That is one ugly mug.

 

You can always spot an amateur artist when they can fuck up the head/face that badly. No amount of genius engineering skills or 3D rendering technique can solve that. That's pure artistic know-how. And this isn't there, not by a long shot.

 

Even though the head is too small I am glad it has a neck.

 

On the plus side, it would look pretty good next to MP-51 if you wanted to set up a "melting wax sculpture" themed display.
