Well to me saying something is "garbage" implies it has zero merit on any level and I don't think that's true when it comes to the Transformers movies.

If you think they're garbage that's fine, your definition is different to mine.

IMO Transformers (2007) is a much better and more enjoyable movie than Godzilla King Of The Monsters (another popcorn blockbuster flick). The TF movies for what they're, seem to get an unjust amount of hate when comparing to similar blockbuster movies which skimp on story and have badly written characters - are they all "garbage" as well?

I mean, yes, I would presonally call King of the Monsters garbage, same for Godzilla vs Kong. I would rather have gotten a youtube video of the action scenes linked to me than watched those.

Honestly, it's so tiring having so many pages of people on literally every thread demeaning each other just because of the stuff they like and dislike. Like it's ridiculous how we use the term "GEEWUNER", which in definition just used to mean someone who is irrationally against changes of any kind. That meaning is now reserved for people who make remarks about how it's weird how Mirage has some serious resemblances to Jazz or the fact that Blitzwing sort of looks like Starscream or how it was really cool how we had designs that homaged G1 in the opening battle of Bumblebee.

Just so I don't seem like I'm defending just one part of the fandom, the same goes for people who like the Michael Bay films. I feel bad for them because sometimes, I think a lot of us feel and act like we're better than them just because we think our tastes in movies and entertainment are superior. I don't think there's any correlation between how intelligent you are and the entertainment you consume; for instance, I have a close friend who is one of the most intelligent people I know but who vastly prefers the five spectacle-driven Michael Bay Transformers movies over the more character-driven Bumblebee movie. Different people, different tastes, and different priorities.

Sometimes, I think we need to take a step back and realize we're taking a franchise about talking, converting robots too seriously. It's okay to be an avid fan of something, but it's important to realize that others may like something else - in this fandom or any fandom, rarely is anything objective and that's the beauty of it. Diversity of thought is how things grow and evolve. But I just wish we can just stop taking things too personally and feel like any slight is directed towards us personally.

The gold standard for fan interaction is the MCU, in my opinion. People are excited over the old and new, and I find that they are extremely cordial to one another even if they disagree; I just hope that the people behind this movie can deliver a movie that makes us all happy and puts a stop to all this vitriol.

since people are talking about the quality of the films. when it comes to the quality of superhero films(sure transformers aren't superheroes but they more or less fit in the genre) i feel sam raimi's spiderman trilogy is the gold standard, its not perfect but it's very creative and did a good job with things like music, cinematography, fight choreography(not sure if there's a different term when done in cg) meanwhile it was kinda corny and some of the acting wasn't that great but overall it's solid and has a lot of personality and while the cg doesn't hold up(at least for the first one) the film as a whole does. in terms of rotb my current expectations are that it'll be on par with bumblebee or a bit worse which is quite low in my opinion. i understand why people like bumblebee and the first few times i watched it i felt the same, after 5 bay films this one felt very refreshing it was certainty an improvement in some ways but after watching the film about 10+ times since the film's release i just don't like it anymore. when rewatching films i like to find new things to appreciate but everytime i rewatch bumblebee i just find more things i don't.

Nah DC movies definitely are not this hated. DC hits it more frequently than Transformers and F&F. I mean honestly I give a F to public hate bcs if you ask something about a specific movie to an average movie watcher it won't be able to say anything about the movie. Some people have a solid reason but most average public
who hate Transformers don't have a solid reason to say so, I mean maybe they have but they can't even explain what. Most I know do it bcs everyone does. I personally say dotm and aoe are good movies for this blockbuster genre (I know Aoe may diverge a lot, but it's way less boring than the others bcs it doesn't tell 2 movies at the same time.) Tf1 and tf2 kills it bcs when it becomes interesting with the Transformers they change the scene for Sam's Life: The Movie, staring his parents with stupid jokes and his boring life. Tf1 for example, things get interesting when the Autobots arrive, then it's a big down bcs after that we have the Autobots and humans being dumb for 30 mins straight

Nah these movies arent as consistently good as Raimi. Batman Begins is good, TDK excellent, but TDKR is much more noticeably boring and just nowhere near the quality of TDK. Plus the Raimi movies have more character and life to them, more artistic flair. And Bruce Campbell, which every movie needs.

Nah Spider-Man 1 is the best of the three imo. Or maybe just tied with 2, I’m not sure. It’s certainly close though.

Spider-Man is excellent, Spider-Man 3 is good, Spider-Man 2 is much more noticeably boring and just nowhere near the quality of the first one. (The director's cut does help a good deal, though.)

The Dark Knight Trilogy just utterly destroys them with a jackhammer. Raimi's vision got lost in the studio shuffle but 3 wasn't going to be great anyhow. 3rd parts of trilogies usually are a failure.
I'll give credit where credit's due for the Transformers movies... Dark Of The Moon was one of those rare third acts that actually was better than the two predecessors and the stakes were genuinely high. (Shame about Optimus being written the way he was, but otherwise a solid 3rd entry for a trilogy.)

I can only hope ROTB has more in line with TWOK or TDK than most sequels do. I'd love for it to be a Godfather II type of deal... (I'm not holding my breath.)

    This guy gets it.

I've come to really appreciate TDKR over the years. It's a solid conclusion to a solid trilogy.

Spider-man 3 isn't really fun, though. I mean it is, at parts, but a lot of the movie is boring. I think it's remembered for a lot of the goofier elements, but if you sit down and watch it the movie isn't that interesting.

I'm risking my nerd cred here, but what does this acronym stand for?

The ending to TDKR nearly made me cry, when spider man 3 ended I was happy that it was over.
