Marvel HasLab offerings have swappable heads, so maybe a more IDW head? Doesn't really seem that interesting. Let's try again. I'd love for them to offer the nemesis deco, but that's a big can of worms (separate tracking for a different run). Probably not. Deathsaurus seems a little much. Okay, a lot much. A very lot much, even. While it's more JG1 themed than Victory specifically, the Autobot Master Warriors (Kirk, Rodney, Loafer, the Toraizer that was scrapped, re-issue Lione and Shuffler) would be in the right price range and niche, I'd think, and would be nice synergy if we are, in fact, getting some or all of the 88 Headmasters in the near future. I'll go with this. The only other maybe off the wall idea would be a Weaopnizer in Saber or Leo deco as additional weaponry for Victory Saber to accentuate Leo as a Weaopnizer (Sixgun seems best suited to this, but whatever). Or just cause the most fan rage by including either or both of Grand Cog or the unused PotP Pretender shell designs as accessories for a Grand Max and Black Zarak
Nah, I'm ecstatic that Star Saber is finally coming stateside, especially when the OG IDW G1 continuity did the guy dirty. (P.S. thanks for doing him justice, Simon Furman!) I know we already got several cases of JG1 via CHUG Sky Shadow, TR Overlord, CW Liokaiser (to some degree), but if Haslab Star/Victory Saber is what really convinced Hasbro to double down on implementing JG1 more often, then I'm more than all for it! (P.S. any ideas when Haslab SS will get properly revealed?) FUND HIM. FUND HIM. FUND HIM.
Imma go out on a limb and guess that Deathsaurus will be in the main line. As a Titan I'd wager, but maybe with the increase in Commander budget, Hastak could possibly squeeze him in there.
Yeah cuz hasbro cares about that. No offense intended but they could give 2 shits as long as the $$$ is rolling in
I know ironworks and Airwave were repeatedly selling for 50% off for $9.99 on Amazon for months. The price for airwave on Amazon kept dropping from $19.99 to $17.99 to $13.99 to $12.99 to $9.99 - I bought one at $13.99 and literally the next day the price dropped. Also, Hasbro via their ebay store for a time had airwave for $9.99 USD.
If Star Saber is indeed the Haslab, then everyone will have the same opportunity to get Star Saber. Start saving now! It will likely start in august and go for 45 days.
I wonder when they'll reveal him. EDIT: Also, seems like Galactus is already almost halfway funded. A good sign for Star Saber
Something I hope with Star Saber from Haslab would be Hasbro uses the same kind of plastic they used on Unicron. Its more dense & sturdier than the kind they use in the main line. I have the MP-24 SS, but will gladly get this one as well. Unless of course Hasbro throws us a curve ball and its something else from Victory. I would still get it however.
I think a $100 Commander would be a better fit. Deathsaurus is a big guy, but I don't recall him being quite that big. If you look at the original Victory Scale Chart, he's about the size of Victory Saber if not a tiny bit shorter.
Yeah, looks like he isn't. And it doesn't look like he'd be a lot smaller than TR Trypticon. But I wouldn't want his Breastmasters to suffer too much from budgetary restraints. The WFCT Micro- and Battlemasters already were stripped down to bare-bones for their size.
Exactly! I think this is so exciting and could lead to more great things. A lot of us are feeling that way. This hobby is fun, that's why I do it, cost is secondary (within reason) and $250 for WFC Star Saber with potentially the other guy and future JG1 stuff is well within reason for me.
I think the one thing that Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast have in their favor is that they're required to create the breastplate for Deathsaurus's most iconic look, which is something you can't really say for most micromasters.
Why would you need to? They don't need to be accessories to be good toys. Hasbro didn't even give them a chance as full action figures. Horrible articulation, no accessories except in rare cases, and no 3mm fists. They could have everything in their favor that most larger TFs have short of ankle tilts. You're implying that we keep them bare-bones and only considering their usefulness for larger figures. They don't need to rely on large TFs to shine. But they need to be given the chance to.
to be quite honest, i don't think they could add much more complexity to the Micromasters at that size and still 1. keep the same number of figures at the same price point and 2. pass safety and durability tests
They shouldn't be limited to such a budget. If that means they have to be sold at a higher price, then so be it. As for their articulation, accessories, and detail: Their transformations wouldn't get much in the way. They're simple enough. All of these are not good reasons at all to keep from advocating for better quality for smaller TF figures.
those are made out of a much softer plastic, which is part of what allows them to be so articulated while not being fragile, in addition to the fact the parts all have a fairly low surface area to volume ratio i'm not sure that softness of plastic would be beneficial for Transformers that have to transform, as well as have significantly thinner pieces
