Lmao I think from here on out, everyone's getting shrunken down. Not only cause it's much easier and cheaper to render the CGI models when they're not 28ft tall, but it also makes them more personable when it's time to interact with human character.

It's also easier to film them, that was kind of an issue back in the first film, they shot action sequences from too close a distance, and the robots were so big that they ended up out of frame a decent portion of the time.

It was longer and thinner, yeah. This definitely makes me feel like Optimus will not be pulling a trailer in this film, this truck looks modified specifically with a transformation into a robot mode in mind.

Plus, y'know, pulling a huge trailer both in "fake New York" sets and in the wilderness of Peru feels... unwise, production and filming wise.

Here is my humble push back. I would imagine that their sizes will be inconsistent from scene to scene but I think they will be much closer to the vehicle mode size then in the Bumblebee movie.

My reasoning is simple. Do you have any idea how stupid it will look in New York City if Optimus Prime is only the size of an average car? There are far too many visual references in the city. It will become distracting if Optimus Prime is not somewhere between 24 to 30 ft.

And Bumblebee you could get away with the robot mode being smaller due to the fact that a lot of human interaction occurred in a garage. But if you watch Bumblebee again anytime bumblebees interacting with anything that provide any visual reference such as when he's fighting dropkick and shatter and gets tasered or when he's standing by another car you can see that bumblebee shoot up to a more realistic 15ft.

Why do you spam this video, or other videos by this channel every time you comment? Why do you never reply to people asking you what the hell is going on? What is your deal, my man?

Looking at Machine Wars Optimus Prime now I can see where you mean. It'd be cool if Optimus's look here is a homage to his various 90's take in some form or another as a way to throw a bone for 90's fans.

I have been saying for years that everyone is listening to what it doesn't get made for OLD and new fans were OLD fans let to be the newest series was brought in to appeal to THAT side of the fandom (come on fat) of toys and comics not video games so much to be expected new fans would talk and it was old who made those designs for realism comics I don't think so and that's why the new bots bring a more Lego to appeal to that maniac its mania only for tfs

Think about how new fans come in when it wasn't the old masters the designs could be the traditional but instead they talk like new is only good and old sucks but without old all will be one with the eternal void but they cry just like the old fans when that change consumes us,.

I think its cool too but have you ever seen a truck with the flames when it wasn't short how can it be cartoony if its real life its not fantasy caught in a landslide no escape from Michael Bay fip ,

    YouTube (Legacy):
That is one chunky backside. It looks like it was purposely designed in such a way that it could realistically turn into legs. That's pretty neat. And on that note, toys designers collectively breathe a sigh of relief.

That's a fair assessment. I don't really think the Robots are gonna be held to any consistent real world scale throughout the film, especially like you mentioned, not scene-to-scene. If anything it'll be used just enough to seem plausible.

Being that we're seven Transformers films in, I get the idea that the attention that was once payed to having a "precise adherence to scale" has taken the back seat in favor of just passing in appearance and looks reasonable enough at face value. Doesn't necessarily bother me much if I'm being honest, and I don't think the General Audience could care any less either.

I feel like i can almost guarantee Arcee is gonna mass shift to be about 9 or 10 feet in robot mode.

Yeah I hundred percent agree I think it's better to make it look good.

Don't get me wrong I'm a scale nut but for me once you get past the autobot cars and trucks I think it's less important.

I have been thinking about how the Maximals are going to be introduced in the movie is there going to be a warning of their arrival like in Jurassic Park like rippling cup of water before the T-Rex arrives on the scene.

Or is it going to be like Kong: Skull Island where Kong's just standing there, menacingly!?

It's funny because for the time that was such an amazing figure yet that picture pasted on the trailer is so not very Optimus Prime.
