For what it's worth....I hope it's real. He's a great figure, and it'd be great if people got to experience him for a semi reasonable price.

 

I definitely need me a secondary BA to casually fiddle with and because its truck mode is BRILLIANT imo. But I'm patient for now, hopefully this "reissue" will be an eventual full production run and not just a limited run throughout.

 

Sounds like an excellent business model. Mind if i borrow it? Totally brings the warm fuzzy feelings of trust that i need in order to want to give my money away.

 

Man, I've had to reread and restart the last few pages so many times because @octobotimus quoted a screenshot which I posted and I thought he was disputing ShowZ's comments in it, which was really confusing.

But I get it now: someone made a claim that Wei Jiang is doing a new run and he was refuting that (apologies, man; I was not following that for a while) because according to every conversation we've seen, WJ is not involved.

Like you said, man, take it or leave it, but I would seriously ask somebody who isn't trying to sell something about this: ShowZ isn't stocking it, so they have nothing to gain from this but somebody else posted a message with David saying that he contacted his former WJ rep and they said that they have nothing to do with this.

Wei Jiang is almost certainly not involved with this. If people buy them, get a good copy and I'm totally wrong and WJ starts cranking out product again, great, but all indications of verified discussions with retailers say that these are either:

old/defective stocks being sold off
a new KO from a reputable source like BMB or
a new KO from a questionable source who may be selling empty shampoo bottles.

I’ve definitely seen these on older listings when I was last looking in late 2020. It seems like no one has new stock images yet, but there are more listings than I had anticipated judging by the various sources in this thread.

 

With all these old blatantly used images that's been popping up everywhere trying to give the impression that "it's finally real!", just gives off catfish vibes.

 

No actual new runs, and we now have an explanation as to why WJ stuff popped up on the market.

In response to a question asking if WJ is back/coming back, Showz responded:

Welp, BMB better fill those shoes asap already. We're all tired of waiting after all this "sloppy seconds" mess that's been going on. It's bad enough that we still have yet to have any 3P Peterbilts.

Anyway, what I meant to say was certain people want BMB to KO it but then call BMB's KOs the Sloppy Seconds. Not saying you did but, ya know.

 

True, some may call BMB KO's "SS" but we all definitely would rather take decent quality mass produced
KO-KOs than the limited quantity of cheap left over reject parts for quick resale mainly from obscure outlets.

 

I mean, I’ve been pretty vocal about wanting literally anyone else to try KO’ing movie stuff. Like I appreciate BMB for making them, but they really suck at making me like them...

 

Is this one of theirs? I picked this up a few months ago and even though the tolerances are all out of wack and he takes some fiddling to stand up correctly, I still really like it.

BMB definitely made the upscaled one, but I’m not overly familiar with TF Dream Factory’s roots as a manufacturer.

Black Mamba's version of ROTF Megatron is called LS-06. Main difference from TF Dream Factory's is it's bigger and lacks ratchets.

 

Yeah, I’ve seen it. I’m curious though if TFDF is an independent group or if they’re a branch of another established entity.

My first instinct when I bought it was to say no because BMB already have a RotF Megatron, but it’s not uncommon for some manufacturers to have differently scaled KOs under their umbrella.

 

I'm fairly certain TFDF isn't affiliated with BMB. It would be sorta strange if the same company made two very similar figures of the same iteration of a character, even if they're branched. I think I read that Exquisite Toys is also TFDF.
And on the topic of them, I can't wait for their version of DOTM Megs is finished.
Unless I'm out of the loop and they're terminated and that's why I haven't seen much from it...

 

Idk, I myself haven't had any QC issues from their figures. A fair bit of my MPM figures are from them and no problems.

 

It's believed to be the case with the movie Optimus Prime KOs actually. And the movie Megatron MPM-08 KOs.

That's interesting. There was just an update about a DotM Megatron recently. I'll see if I can find it.
