I'm pretty tired of the same general look series after series. I miss the days when Prime, Megatron, and others had unique looks in different lines.

No. Optimus is always a truck by default, so why can't Megatron always be a tank?

I'm reasonably satisfied with the WfC Megatron tank mold. He's never gonna be a pistol ever again in the US. Now, Megatron being a helicopter like he was in Animated, or better yet, a jet and a tank triple changer like he was during Titans Return (minus the Titan/Headmaster gimmick) is fine by me. I suppose he could be a stationary heavy mortar or a space fighter. But guns ain't gonna happen, full stop.

I'd like a Megatron that starts with G1 Megatron's robot mode and invents an alt mode to go with it like WFC Soundwave or Shockwave.

Just focus on getting the robot mode right and let the altmode be a "sci-fi dropship" that's Megatron posed as a cylinder with a cannon on one leg.

This guy. This guy gets it.

It would make too much sense, and be an instantly understood call back (or call forward, depending on how you look at it); they could also sneak an unofficial gun mode in like they did with Siege Shockwave.

That said, I really do like the WFC Megatron, and would be perfectly happy if that was all we ever got for a classic version.

Too easy to fan-mode into gun Hasbro knows that.

I like Tank Modes for Megatron its a mobile big gun, not opposed to Helicopters or Jets, I'd prefer a Jet though.

I am sick of the Siege Mold and the ER mold.

G1 Megatron is probably never going to turn into a gun again for anything mainstream, and so I think tank is the perfect replacement.

That being said, I would definitely like to see Megatron turn into something other than a tank. Helicopter, jet, missile truck, Batmobile, some Cybertronian vehicle, whatever; just something new would be nice. I think that Megatron has more leeway than Optimus or Starscream just because his original vehicle mode isn't practical anymore, and so he's been able to have a lot of variation over the years, whereas Optimus Prime has always been a big red truck and Starscream has always been a white/gray jet.

Id love to see a gwnerations style megatron with his animated helicopter. I'm fine with megs being a tank, though it would be nice to get something with variety. If he is a tank though, I'd prefer his a monster tank, bigger and beefier than your brawls, blitzwing and warpath. Like a mammoth tank.

However, to keep a bit of continuity with galvatron, to give megs an earth mode and to be somethong other than a tank, but keep that gun dna in him, make him a m110 howitzer. A long range gun on treads. Then, no one would be beyond the reach of megatron.

Optimus Prime is a truck, Megatron is a tank. It's called consistency.

I'm surprised they did two MP Megatrons with gun modes.

Shockwave doesn't mass shift though. He's also shown doing a turret mode on Cybertron. If I remember correctly his bio even mentions him having flight capabilities in gun mode. Just saying it's not a great comparison on any level. Even as a toy, Shockwave isn't getting mistaken for a real gun.

To be honest, the gun risk is different in Asia than West, I think? Rarely heard of Gun news in Indonesia, for example.

But that doesn't mean the risk isn't there.

First off, I think a portion of this is probably intensified by the fact that we got the Siege Megatron mold done so many times over. The fact that Cyberverse Megatron essentially works the same way doesn't help things either.

A tank is a pretty suitable alt mode for Megatrons, particularly G1 ones, but like many have said, it'd be nice to have a little more variety in those tanks. G1 Optimus, G2 Laser Optimus, and Armada Optimus are all trucks, but look at the variety there.

It's really just symptomatic of Hasbro "locking in" certain things about the big names and rarely deviating much any more. Which is a shame imo. We get enough pure G1 these days that everything that isn't G1 already shouldn't have to also be G1-lite too. If Megatron had been something else in Cyberverse, it's not like anyone wanting a G1 look would have been starved for options.

I feel as if he should have a railgun alt mode like in the prime wars trilogy, just as a kind of stand in for the gun mode Bc hastak can’t seem to acquire a legal gun mode. But idk, the tank mode is kinda dull, but siege did give us a a 5mm gun megs and I treat that megs as being a triple changer except the gun mode requires a lot of energy for him to transform into lol, similar to idw with the ore 13 stuff. But I can agree with u guys, tank is getting kinda old

Thinking about it more, over the last 14 years through the live action movies, Megatron has been different Alien Spaceships, a tripple changer Alien Tank / Spaceship and inc Galvatron, Trucks,

Now, I appreciate not everyone likes the movie series but the Megatron character and toys inc studio series have in my view been fantastic.

He's only been a standalone tank for a relatively short time in WfC out of his recent mainline more unified scale orientated incarnations too. In titans return he was a Jet / Tank tripple changer.

In Unicron Trilogy through to animated / live action movies he was only a tank for one of the three seasons of UT. Before that in RID he was a dragon and from 96' Beast Wars a T-Rex to Dragon.

We have also had his MP-36 G1 homage, which delivered the best representation of his 80s character ever.

With Megatron no longer being allowed to be a gun, a tank is the next logical choice for an alt mode. That or a jet/helicopter like in Animated.

Personally I have no problems with him being a tank or a jet but they could take a cue from 2006 Classics Megatron and let him be a gun but an unrealistic one and hell shove nerf dart functionality in there for some extra play value.
