If all we get are just updated robots that take in mind the Pretender shell designs, I want it to be like how IDW did the Pretender robot designs (for an example, Bomb-burst).

And if we’re talking Pretenders, there’s one I want most of all… a certain skeletal samurai.

I'm pretty sure he's a new mold, his transformation scheme seems similar to the G1 with a few new twists. He can fit Eject in his chest, which opens in both modes.
(It's always possible he shares engineering but if he does it's so slight as to not really be worth mentioning)

I think he also has one hand molded with a finger slightly similar to Netflix Soundwave.

Edit: Guys you really need to lower expectations regarding pretenders, think more POTP in terms of quality of execution - if not that exact gimmick.

Potp was pretty perfect in the first place. We just need an articulated small shell figure and a larger inner robot. Sell them as voyagers and have a deluxe robot with a Micromaster sized armor figure. Only the monsters were shown to be bigger but then they shrank as time went on so it’s fine. Easy peasy.

Do we have an updated comprehensive list of everything that has been leaked/rumored for the new line?

I honestly loved the idea and think on a bigger budget it could be amazing.

So I'm assuming that means they're smaller figures? I sure hope so. We're probably only going to get one chance at full-sized Pretenders, and I want Hasbro to wait until they can get it right.

I could see them doing a Pretender inner robot as a core figure. While a neat homage, I could definitely see the "misguided" part of that. Possibly a way for them to test the waters for full-blown Pretenders?

Inner pretender robots as repaints of core molds is probably about the extent of what'll happen and honestly I like the idea, it's always fun to have more repaints of those little guys

I'm reading that Pretenders hint as some sort of very basic barely articulated shell, or possibly even just a basic figure like the Wheelie and Spike/Daniel that comes with the Studio Series Dinobots.

I'd love a modern better (leader) Transmetal II Megatron, but I'm worried that bodes ill for getting a Transmetal I Megatron. I like dragon Megs, but I love TM t-rex Megs.

I'm just gonna keep pretending we're getting a Needlenose, regular version or undead Biscayne Bay-cement shoes-wearing Selects edition.

I know everyone wants the pretenders to be well articulated shells and containing inner bots but I truly think that's unreasonable. Now, what they could do to help improve the articulation is to build the shells more like Oil Slick. Where the legends/core class bot can fit inside the backpack like section then they would be more easily capable of adding a waist rotation and or knee articulation. I can't possibly imagine most of them with any sort of head articulation just based on their g1 designs. The arms were articulated at the shoulders already so adding additional joints there wouldn't necessarily be a stretch.
But I would be fine with basically reusing the g1 shells with updated inner bots myself.

Do you mean Oilmaster? I think that could work (works for me anyway).

For the Pretenders who disguise as humans, I've always thought I'd like to see the human "shells" as tiny figures who'd sit inside the larger figure's chest when not in use, essentially being a Pretender shell for their spark as opposed to their main body.

A whole thread could get dedicated to Needlenose:

    Needlenose mold redeco speculation thread.

If I was Hasbro I would give each use of the mold a codename named after a US City. Needlenose himself would be Miami. And each future iteration is a city one step closer to the city where Wreckgar39 lives. Until that final use of the mold IS the city where Wreckgar lives. Hasbro assassins take him out. And finally Needlenose has his revenge......

how does getting tm2 megs mean we wont get a transmetal? If anything good sales on the tm2 will show hastak the desire for transmetals, and increase chances of transmetal megs and other transmetals happening in the future

Exactly, in pretty much every version of Pretenders the outer robot/shell is smaller than the inner robot. The inner robots should always be the bigger one. No reason for a robot to pretend to be a human when that human is the size of Optimus.

I'd hope that were the case, but it just seemed really odd to me to skip past TM Megs -- who was all of season 2 and most of season 3 -- straight to TMII Megs who only came in right at the end.

I'd certainly hope we got both, and I'm content to wait for my TM t-rex if the TMII dragon comes first. But I want TM t-rex Megs.

I think hastak chose the TM2 over TM because they dont want to do 2 trex megs in a row. the dragon design is different enough for the average consumer to justify buying the same character 2 years in a row, while a second purple trex in a row might not be. Not really a skip just releasing them in the most logical order trex-dragon-trex over trex-trex-dragon.
