The Gunship looks nice and I it was definitely an UCS set I could be interested in -- I want playability, and this has it. But I'm going to pass because of two reasons. One, size. I just don't have an space for it. And 2), really, this expensive, space for many figures and there are only two minifigures? It should be packed with them. At the very least all the seats (pilot, gunners) should be filled with mini-figs, and preferably some troopers in the hold alongside Windu.
I was psyched for the gunship announcement but seeing it, eh, will not be in any rush. It's not awful but could've been better. Hopefully enough folks will be psyched it will make the last version drop in price a bit
I was never interested in a UCS Gunship, and I don't collect Star Wars UCS sets in general, so this was always going to be a pass for me. But reading from the comments in this thread, it doesn't sound like anyone is planning to get it - or at best, not in any rush to.
It looks cool, but yeah I might pass on this one. I’m still waiting for a UCS Venator class star destroyer. One day…
The instructions by barneius? I bought those, and did the same. I would absolutely pick up another Tributo for that price, as I bought his three-pack of instructions, and could use another set of Ferrari wheels/badges/windows, so I could have the Testsrossa simultaneously as the F40. (my kingdom for that new window-roof piece with basic white printing! I checked my local Walmart---plenty of clearance, but no Speed Champions at all, looks like someone got there first.
It's just big and cavernous, only impressive in the scale's regard but when there's so much empty space draped in paneled walls and wings without much detail behind it. I don't see anything that warrants the kidney pricetag. ... that Volkswagen is however shaping out to be worth its price. I'm waiting for the C1-10P Droid.
The UCS Republic Dropshiplooks great, but I can't see spending $350 on the thing. Only has two minifigs, and it's just too big for minifigs, anyway.
Don’t care what version you own …cus they all kick ass! We are a blessed fan base for the fact the Lego Millennium Falcon Exist Best Lego Ever…. IMO
In Luke’s words: “What a pile of junk!” Did you get the Super Ultimate version of the Falcon yet @Arduous? l’m hoping to see another Star Wars UCS honestly. Hopefully either the long rumoured At-At or the Lambda Shuttle will be up and about, otherwise I’m good with the Discovery & Hubble set.
nah, it was for free on Rebrickable. very basic - a photo of assemblies, I have to work out how they go together myself from the "finished" photo. I've been to 2 Walmarts this week and they both have about the same items on clearance, except for the Ferrari. it's all stuff I either already got or don't want, tho. The only shelfwarmer is the underwater monsters (the shark / angler fish/ etc), and even at $9 I can't talk myself into it.
The word poping up in my head is; BORING , no matter how buildwise good it might be. A troop transport without troops is just an empty box... I'll wait for a version that i can put my legion of 501 minifigs in and has some decent cool features like in the good old days. These days lego just makes still paintings, with no function, just form. If i want boring art, there is always a museum. The hype on this will be quickly over.
I really like the UCS Gunship! It’s beautiful. But my problem is, cost aside, I just have no room to display it since it’s both long and wide. Sadly may have to pass on it. I do wish it performs well so hopefully Lego will make more Prequel sets.
I got the Hogwarts Clock Tower for 50% off and Great Hall for 25% off at Walmart. They make a pretty impressive spread.
