Not yet, but some people in this thread are really trying hard to make it into a Hound situation. It's nowhere near Hound. Hound is the only TT product I've ever returned for a full refund and not bothered to get a replacement until a confirmed fixed reissue is released. I think the only issue that is somewhat widespread on Starscream are the loose ankles, and on a lot of copies joint tightener seems to work well to fix that. The other issues don't appear to be nearly as widespread. And some issues like the tiny cracks at the base of the tail fins don't appear to be causing full breaks. It's definitely not great and I'm hoping the future releases using this mold don't have that issue, but in my opinion it's something that can be ignored.

Oh ok. No, that’s not a need for me. I don’t make them go pigeon toed often if ever.

I don’t either but I found unhindered thigh swivels would’ve helped with balance and posing when I was posing my copy

I think a running pose is the only time I have it angled inward & it’s still works ok enough here. Better ankles would’ve been my only articulation nitpick.

I agree with everything you said, but I didn’t appreciate his tone too much. My comments were primarily aimed at complaints about hairline cosmetic cracks, and I conceded that “real” issues and breakages are unacceptable, but for that I get called a simp, etc., I just don’t have time for that. The toy should definitely be near perfection, but if he’s saying boycott it over stabilizer cracks, then I’m not on board. Just a different opinion, and I was nice about it.

I’m sure you hear this all the time, but your pics and ability to pose a figure for maximum expressiveness is top notch.

Thanks a ton, man! I can only apologize for not having time to take the higher quality shots this dream come true figure deserves (good lighting, clean background), just quick and dirty deskshots for now. This figure’s so photogenic and practically poses himself!

Trying to hand waive all issues with the figure, explaining Q.C. issues away as "what do you expect when factory workers get closer to a living wage" and implying that if we don't all buy it, then Takara won't sell MP anymore definitely seems thirsty. I don't know if you venture out into 3P forums, but TT collectors get dragged a lot, and as someone that loves 3P and Takara I usually push back on it. They're absolutely right though, some Takara collectors really will argue that we should buy a damaged toy, and thank Takara for it or they won't love us anymore. I'm not saying boycott if over stabilizer cracks, but I am saying I would recommend against buying it because the feet are cracking on a lot of copies and will eventually sheer off, the stabilizer is cracking because they used a rivet instead of a screw to cut costs, and some copies lower arms are showing issues too.

I purchased two copies from two different retailers and both are showing some of these issues. This isn't another Hound, but it's bad enough that it is completely reasonable to caution collectors against buying this figure. I own 21 Takara MPs and I've only ever returned Hound. Besides Hound and MP-09 I've owned some other real QC stinkers including MP-41 and MP-43, and so far my SS is behind only Hound in terms of quality. Scratch what I said earlier, saying "buy it and live with it or they won't make more" is absolutely simping.

My copy is still great for those that still care about positive things about MP-52.

And no I’m not lying. I don’t owe anyone shit.

Picked V2 up today. Even if it was a hot mess, like some have said, it would still LOOK better that the previous mold. Fortunately, mine is all good! Love it. I'm in for the other two. MORE Deceptions please.

Cowering is his M.O., why pose him standing?

Comes with the territory. With MP47, only time will tell if material is just as crumbly.

I'm very curious what this guy would look like with the faux cockpit removed. But it looks like it's pinned on. :(

I really like this figure. So much so that I can almost overlook the price (almost).

I've been pretty lucky with mine. Aside from one hairline crack on the right stabiliser, I don't appear to have any issues. All the faces are present and correct, the paint has no obvious defects, everything tabs together pretty well etc.

It's also a fairly easy and intuitive transformation; I didn't even need the instructions. The only bit I had trouble with was getting one of the intakes to tab into the shoulder properly, but once I figured out that you can put your finger inside the intake and push the bit that connects directly (rather than pushing down on the die cast part and trying to leverage it), it went on first time and both are now secure.

I'm really exited for the plus versions now! The Maketoys set will be relegated to alt mode once the official trio are assembled!

A screw would not fix the issue, the area needs reinforced or made out of stronger plastic. See my post above where I disassembled my bad leg. Also can you post a link to the thread tracking qc issues please.

I agree, but not at first, no sir!!!!!! lol

Seriously though, it was more complex than I thought it was going to be but maybe that's TT's instructions as they do not skip a single step on that architectural floor plan they include as instructions. The second time was easy, those instructions will never see the light of day again!
