How long do the Haslabs usually last? A month? I never participated before. It’s been rumored to be $200-250 for a month now, so people shouldn’t be shocked. I canceled my Ark as soon as I heard the Star Saber rumor, so that freed up some funds. I have a few figures that I’m also selling that I don’t need anymore (or never opened). I’d love to get two, but we’ll see…
More importantly, as people keep saying, it's not like having MPs of other characters has stopped stuff from coming out in the primary retail line. MP-44 didn't stop us from getting ER Prime.
A new Star Saber has been one of my holy grails, so needless to say I'll be funding this immediately, Victory Leo or not
While everyone is freaking over the potential Star Saber price, there’s this poor guy who’s upset that the Ravage set is $12 over MSRP of the two base figures. Sorry to single you out. You’re not alone.. I just happened to see your post last and quoted you.
Everytime I looked in this thread, it jumped at least 10 pages, so I wanted to ask, has the price been officially set, or we're still going on the $200-$250 range we were told when it leaked?
If you're only going off official info, all we know is it's something related to Victory. Leaks suggest Star Saber which I would tend to believe, but I would say anything related to price or what may or may not be included in terms of stretch goals/tiers is entirely speculative and could be outdated or misinterpreted info. I say this because people are already acting like they know exactly what this is going to be and none of us do. But I'm still expecting a full scale meltdown once the project/price are revealed because that's just how this place works lately.
True that . I remember when people conviced themselves that MP 44 was $440 because it secretly came with MP Hound inside the trailer Anyway, I'm fully expecting it to be something not as pricy as Unicron. IIRC the Star Wars Sail Barge was bigger and more expensive than the Razor Crest, so if the follow the same model, giant ass unexpected item 1st, more traditionally sized item at a lower cost 2nd.
I know, I'm definitely small potatoes on here with regard to what I spend and how many figures I have. I'm definitely not a die-hard.
If they aren’t included from the start, hopefully they will be part of the early stretch goals along with a recolor of Micromaster Stakeout as Holi.
I am very interested in seeing how Hasbro and TakaraTomy make this appeal to someone who has both the Masterpiece and the Flame Toys. I'm hoping for greatness.
I do, because I want him to be made at a pricepoint and size I can actually afford. Of course, I don't think that'll be any more likely to happen if it fails than if it doesn't. I don't think there's any way we're getting a mainline Star Saber either way.
After thinking on this, if all the rumors are true, then I have no problem paying that much for a fully featured Star Saber and Victory Leo. Brainmaster, V-Star, the whole works. Also Victory Leo is mandatory. Are the stretch goals listed ahead of time like most Kickstarters? No way I’ll pay that much just for Star Saber knowing that I could have had a “free” Victory Leo if more people got on board. I’m sure others would feel the same. That said, I hope it succeeds and we all walk away happy with a great Victory Saber set to treasure for years!
you aren't the one with orders locked in and unable to cancel I imagine, with so many gunpla, this just is a kick, but to be fair if this is that stretch from August and September for me, I have no issues
It makes sense in general. You don't want to build up to the "big" thing because people may have either burned out or simply gone broke before they have a chance. If they had lead with Star Saber it likely finds success, but there's also people who'd potentially withhold their backing thinking "Oh what could be next?!" as well as people who'd back Star Saber but then not have the funds to pull it off later for Unicron. So you put Unicron first. He's likely the biggest it'll ever get. People backed it, and now the rest of us who didn't have $600 or the space for something like that can consider these smaller projects. I believe the last two HasLab's with stretch goals only introduced them one at a time. So as each goal was met they revealed the next. But, again, I keep going back to how they'd probably need a TON of extra backers to be able to justify firing up the production of an entirely separate Commander sized figure. With Sentinel and the Crest the stretch goals were smaller accessories or changes to the mold to add more detailed stuff. It's why part of me thinks "Stretch Goal" may be a misunderstanding or misstatement of whatever the leak heard/said. It'd be way easier from Hasbro's perspective to be upfront about Victory Leo and create a backer tier that includes him from the get go. It's also why I really think people need to stop assuming anything about Victory Leo until Hasbro announces it themselves. If people assume the leaks are accurate it could really hurt backing efforts if people withhold their dollar "expecting" Leo.
Honestly I feel the same way as you do in regards to repaints/retools costing more than RRP, and I'd only overpay for one if it's a character I really want. Much more than the regular price and it's not worth the price anymore.
No. Nononononono. shialeboufnononono.gif Fucking NO. This is Haslab. Micromasters - hell, anything deserves much better treatment than the Micro- and Battlemasters got in the War For Cybertron Trilogy. A mere redeco of a low-quality Stakeout in a HASLAB set would just be telling Micromaster fans to piss off. NO.
