I wonder if they'll pull a newage/hasbro and also retool him into Straxxus.

Tfsource just puts dates on iron factory(and other products) for the sake of filling in the release date spot. With iron factory you just have to look and say “well…someday”

well far as we know hasbro isn’t retooling galavtron into straxus.

plus its iron factory. They do their own thing and making IDW looking figures and straxus did appear in 2005 IDW so if they they him it’s be nice if he looked like how he did

I could've sworn one of the leakers played a guessing game and the answer was that one of next year's leaders will be Straxxus from KD galvatron...?

Also there is a bit of a precedent for IF - they retooled their Megatron into The Fallen and Bludgeon IIRC.

Straxus is apparently coming next year but that doesn’t mean he’s a Galvatron retool especially since Galvatron is a repack leader. All that talk stems from that newage figure and folks going “oh I hope straxus is a retool of Galvatron!” Just like every Galvatron that’s been happening lately but just because one figure is that doesn’t mean everything needs follow suit. Hasbro has been pretty greatly lately making sure figures represent the character as close as possible with repaints and retools being what the character already is.

the fallen and Megatron for IF “worked” because both were tanks and had similar proportions however I personally don’t think it was a good representation of the fallen. Straxus however doesn’t work for galavtron especially with IDW since he was a jet and was very different looking. I don’t think that newage figure works at all. Proportions were wrong and slapping on a new chest head and axe doesn’t work for me. It’s a “well close enough” and for a legends size figure the price of a commander class, close enough doesn’t cut it. Straxus is his own character and should be and if I’m wrong I’m wrong but hasbro had the balls to give him his own mold 10 years and I feel they could and should again.

Their Bludgeon isn't a Megatron retool. There's no shared parts or engineering.

    Oh right!
Which is shocking considering what major part of the franchise he's been since his Action Master first released.

I\'m not that big a fan of G1 Galvatron\'s design, but this, and Alpha Trion (one of the very few G1 designs I DO like) are easily a must buy for me!

I would love someone to upscale this Galvatron to a Voyager or Leader class as he is a Perfect IDW Galvatron

Nice. But could we please get a CHUG scale transforming Alpha Trion?  There was Titanium Saint a few years ago, but he looked too stumpy for me.

If the transformation is really going to be simple, I wonder why IF went with a simple transformation for a marquee figure? They also gave the Scourge design a relatively simple transformation (fold up legs, wrap wings around body). There was a post in the legends thread about Hound and his engineering, and it made me think of IF's Cliffjumper and some of their other offerings like Warpath and Mirage where the transformation is more involved: did IF rush out Galvatron and Scourge, or did they get feedback that their user base prefers the more simple transformations?

    We may never know!

To be honest, I feel like their products are a little brittle. Not that they don't hold up, but I feel like if I mess with them too much I'll be in the danger zone. So I'm fine with simple.

Scourge's transformation doesn't bother me. Robot and spacecraft mode look like they're supposed. The DX9 legends figure had almost the same transformation.

I could see Dr. Wu doing a Micromaster version too because the transformation is so simple.

The bot mode looks very, very good. Complete bruiser of a boss bot. The alt-mode looks...complicated :D  Still, I would like to have it if it's quality is good. Well done, Iron Factory!
