I hope Liokaiser is next year's TF Haslab and Dinoking the year after. If that's what it takes to get them done with Breastmaster partners and shells. We've been over this countless times. 60 percent of fans: "Who is Fangry?" 30 percent of fans: "Fangry is cool, but I have no attachment to him." 10 percent of fans: "I needs ma Fangry!" *Fangry is teased in a, boxset with three other figures who have no claims to fame and haven't appeared in any media in that form.* 95 percent of fans: "Take my money!" 5 percent of fans: "Why aren't Optimus's hands blue! Let's march to Pawtucket!" Yes. I also love how none of the heroes and the beloved Transformers characters from our youth died in the American Sunbow continuity.
Let's fucking say GO! Star Saber is a love of mine, and if this guy is a remake of the Siege Jetfire mold, I'm gonna be in joy. If it's a brand new mold from the ground up? OH MY GOD I"LL DIE!
I think they have a realistic number they think they can hit. Takara will promoting this too so they will probably get a sizable chunk of sales from Japan and Asia.
Because I own the original Victory Saber, Landcross and Deszaras, I selfishly am hoping for an updated version of Liokaiser, Roadcaesar, or Dinoking. But that's just me and what I want I agree with the majority of folks that it seems a project that's so big it warrants a HasLab exclusive is likely to be either Victory Saber, or at the very least Star Saber by himself. It's been a very long time coming, but the Chief deserves a Western release. For those confused by Wheeljack's appearance in the Victory anime (and I'm sure it's been posted already, but I haven't read the whole thread): TFTM didn't come out in Japan until after Victory (1989), so Japan was unaware of who died in the film beyond Megatron, Prime, and Starscream, whose fates were revealed in the 2010 (Japanese name for Season 3) show and manga. This is why Prowl shows up in Headmasters, despite also being very much dead, though the Binaltech story in the mid 2000s attempted to clarify this. It's complicated. Bottom line is that, like Prowl in Headmasters, the Victory team didn't know Wheeljack had been killed in the film because they hadn't seen it yet, so that's why he shows up. Although he never actually gets named in the Victory anime, so maybe he's not Wheeljack, after all....... ......he's definitely Wheeljack, who are we kidding??
Yeah this a bit disappointing to me as I’ve wanted an affordable and easy-to-obtain Star Saber for awhile. It doesn’t seem like this HasLab version would be any easier or cheaper to obtain than the Masterpiece version :/ it’s frustrating because the Commander Class is a real nice fit for Star Saber. But hey I guess instead we can get Rodimis with large trailer instead and next year Motormaster with large trailer/combiner pants too :/ I’m trying not to get disappointed already when we don’t even have any information but I’m let down that this is relegated to a HasLab project.
Whatever the haslab turns out to be, we should buy it, maybe even two or more, why? Its an investment, the market value will rise as soon as the backer window closes and even more when it actually releases. Look at what BBTS and others did, they bought MULTIPLES of Unicron and sold a couple units at a much higher price than original backer price, then they listed it as sold out, they waited and then reposted it for 200 bucks more, sold out then relisted it for more over and over and each time it sold despite jacking up the price. If you get the upcoming Haslab and are not impressed by it, you can easily sell it for cost plus shipping and its guarantee to sell or you can hold it for a rainy day and sell it for just Sligh under the current aftermarket value and its a guaranteed sale.
Also, the sheer amount of love for a series that hasn't even been dubbed, with a thread already 22 pages long, should show hasbro and takara where the love is. Yes, we love G1, but we also love Japanese G1.
This may well be the first haslab project I get behind. I missed out on the sail barge and razor crest and decided against unicron but star saber victory leo type set I'd be in for. I may be in for the star wars haslab project too.
OPEN LETTER TO HASBRO. Dear Hasbro ; If you want to call Siege Ravage a Micromaster - go right ahead but please don't RETROSPECTIVELY call G1 Ravage a Micromaster, a Deployer or a minicon or anything like that. .. as well Words have meanings. He's a "decepticon Cassette" or a "Spy Cassette" or simply no description at all. Just "ravage" or "decepticon ravage" or if you really really have too "Battle Ravage" or "Command Ravage". But even though cassettes have some fuctional simularity to a Micromaster doesn't mean they are one anymore than a Duocon and Triplechanger are the same thing. Thanks
Well on the one hand, Yay, likely Star Saber or Deathsaurus. Maybe a Star Saber and Victory Leo set. On the other hand, damn it it's gonna be pricier isn't it? If it's more than a titan class I might not be able to spend the cash.
Honestly with modern engineering, I may use this upcoming Star Saber (if it is Star Saber, fingers crossed!) to replace my MP Star Saber. I'm that commtted to this. No shade on MP Star Saber, but he's not the most...posable, of figures for the space I have.
No not at all, do you not remember that Cookie Monster that was haslab? What haslab is for is for obscure things that wouldn’t be able to fit in the mainline or be a slight retool of a mainline item that can be put in as an exclusive ie black zarak.
Let's Gooooooo!!! I only own the Headmasters DVD, but at least am somewhat "in the know" with respect to late G1. I just want to keep G1 going until we get the full story and have no doubt this will be a kickass figure that will be a fraction of the cost for Unicron. If it blows up then I expect to see Deathsaurus and Pretenders in the future. This is an excellent choice for a Haslab.
We don't know that yet. It's possible that Takara wants to take the Siege Jetfire and revamp it in to a Star Saber but the costs of doing so would be prohibitive without enough preorders.
Yeah, if nothing else I’m sure there were a million lessons learned from the challenges of Unicron. You can see they’ve become much better with subsequent Haslab campaigns. Hopefully price and number of backers needed will be comfortably lower, and stretch goals will be clearly defined and realistic
