Once it goes live, you can back the project on Pulse. You can rescind your backing at any time between the listing going up and the window closing. If the project is a success and the figure is made, your money is locked in the second the window is closed...as that money is used to put the figure in to production. Once the figure is ready, they're shipped out to buyers. ---- In addition, some third parties will likely offer opportunities to back the project for those not able to use Pulse for whatever reason (most likely due to being outside the US/EU). In those cases, the most likely scenario is you'll pay a premium to the third party who'll then submit a preorder to HasLab and help back the project. Most third parties will also have a non-refundable deposit to avoid having people jump in and out (which makes it hard for HasLab and the 3P to track backing numbers). I believe it was $100 for Unicron. The premiums charged by 3Ps are to compensate in part for having to maintain warehouse space for the figures once they're distributed...as well as covering the cost of shipping the product once they get it from HasLab. Funny enough, one thing a bunch of us likely didn't consider when calculating the cost of Unicron was distribution. Shipping something that size wouldn't be cheap. But no one who backed it via HasLab (that I'm aware of) paid shipping.
You have to love proudly stubborn, deliberate ignorance. I am definitely interested in Ravage. My first Transformer (along with Rumble) and favorite Decepticon. Cost is a bit high, but not so much I won't bite. Star Saber... I have to see it. I am not a fan of the design aesthetics of a lot of the JG1 characters. They just feel too much generic Japanese robot to me, and I have no attachment to the show. Still, a good toy is a good toy so I'm open to it. More importantly, I've seen people on these forums asking for this toy for 20 years. I'm hoping that they are happy with what they get.
Im down to fund a Star Saber. Not sure if I have the shelf space for him though. btw, are there any legal places I can watch Victory at?
He can't get over this. Hasbro (in partnership with Takara) continues to make the franchise a success. It's super bizarre pretzel logic. What's even more bananas, is that I bet he secretly wants this but just can't get over the fact that "His Worst Enemy" is in charge of getting it done. Why become so "invested" in vilifying one corporation and glorifying another-- especially when they are NOT competitors. They are literally on the same team. WTF logic is that.
Fuck thinking about this 2 pack they couldve used the siege ravage mold and have an extra laserbeak mold leftover which couldve been buzzsaw. We were robbed guys
Is Haslab not for those more obscure stuff that would not fit at retail??. I mean we have a MP SS to cover that area. I would also like to say both SS and VL would sell good enough as a reguler relese. Would this not be for something more obscure..like Dinoking with Shells? A proper Liokaiser with all breastmasters? Or am I missing something???
Watch this be their way of saying "Sorry we let Beast Wars win a poll they really shouldn't have even been on, but just was there to make them happy"
The mainline has done Overlord and Liokaiser in the US, so I don't think obscurity is a problem. I think the biggest problem is doing a Star Saber in the style of WfC isn't something they can do with the current price structure and they're not confident it'd sell well enough to justify a retail release at whatever price it'd take. I'm sure they could do *a* Star Saber at retail but it would likely be a toy that isn't up to the standard they've set for themselves with WfC.
Star Saber has never been released here as a mainline figure. They've dipped their toes in the Japanese pool a time or two with less than a handful of updated releases in recent years, but two Commanders are too much of a risk if they won't sell. This will work as a two-fold thing... 1.) It'll fund the two Commanders so Victory Saber can become a reality. 2.) It'll show Has/Tak the numbers and prove that the West wants Japanese G1. And that they want it, bad. You're right though, it can be used for more obscure items such as Dinoking/Monstructor.
If it is Star Saber and Victory Leo I am in for two sets. May have to cancel my shattered glass preorders (even though this will likely be a year out), but this is gonna be awesome.
Damn, I didn't even think about that. I've been craving a Buzzsaw to complete the cassettes, but we haven't got one because of the gang-molding with Ravage.
Well sort of. Liokaiser was an online exclusive and I hate not getting one to date, but yeah. Most likely just to make a Star Saber with modern build and just to make sure it is properly sold
People seriously misunderstand the context of the 2016(?) poll where Primal won over Star Saber (he also won over Ultra Magnus or Shockwave, but nobody bring that up).
I could see a Commander sized Star Saber (with brainmaster + Saber + Ride Armor) plus a largely-partsforming Victory Leo coming in right around $200.
