Those decals make him look a bit more interesting looking, I bet decals similar to Artfire's would be well received too for Hauler, Inferno & Grapple too. I think some might appreciate some top of the wing stickers for their Blitzwing too.

You can kinda see that some of the toys even have cut outs to place decals in like with Blitzwing's shins.

 

MS-27A. I don't see much difference in the color, though. Gray instead of black, lighter purple?

Got him today. Overall I like the figure. Not overly complicated but still looks good in all three modes.

My copy had QC issues with a loose ball joint on the right wing. Time to try floor polish on it.

 

ShowZ just sent out the Pre-order Balance Request for MS-27A Poisonous Fog Octane Improved Version, so he should hopefully be shipping soon.

I already have the first release but ordered the 'Improved' version to see what the differences are in-person.

One will join the permanent Legends + collection, the other will go into the fiddle bin...

 

Same here, but I already know I'll keep this latest version and sell/trade the first one.
Honestly, if I knew this recolor was coming since the beginning, I wouldn't even have bothered with the original release.

 

Is the re-colour more toon accurate?

 

To you or anyone that has MS-27A, please post pics (Thanks in advance!!!). I was to get this version last week but my seller sent MS-27 claiming there is no difference. I ask for pics but they wouldn't be able to send any of MS-27A until after the China shutdown. Somehow I'm doubting there is no difference seeing Astrotrain and even Blitzwing all had color variants with the box number designation to match.

If by chance I get those pics before anyone gets their MS-27A, I will add them here so anyone interested can see what your getting between the two.

 

To answer my own question 27 has a black chest whereas 27A's is dark blue and Octane had a black chest in the cartoon. 27A might be a slightly softer/lighter purple from the pics but hard to tell?

 

I'm not trying to be right, more my opinion here, but I think its always blue in the toon. I think the blue ends up being so dark at times that it looks black.

Either way, hoping for pics to confirm for sure, as it wouldn't be the first time a 3P/4P company has sent out mixed or confusing communications on their products to sellers and then to us collectors.
