At the risk of playing Devil's advocate, they're a line of scaled mechanical, motorized model kits of giant piloted mecha animals, typically covered in guns, blades, and the occasional energy weapons. Think Gundam, but more beasts than armored humanoids.

 

Well, I finally had a chance to lay hands on this guy and get to know him better on good ol' Independence Day. He's pretty rad per usual with these Cang Toys Predators.



Size comparison with some other orange guys, man is he 'uuuuuuuge!



I know it's lame, but these guys will be in alt mode for me. I'm playing the long game and hoping Zeta Predaking for combined mode and FT for bots.



Aesthetically, they fit right in with the other TFC sets being super stylized and lots of sharp points and angles.

 

I agree with you on this..Just in case they run into issues with the gorilla or their homage to razor claw, they'll have money in the account to pay for the needed tune ups

You're buying in too much of that 2d picture of their razor claw, at times I wish people would get it through there thick skulls you can't judge the cuisine till its served! That's a 2d pictures all third parties do this all the time. Furthermore l10 out of 10 the render will look completely different when it nears production.
Which brings me to the point of the zoid look everyone gets mentioning for some lack luster reason...Cang toys is obviously blending in artistry betwixt if this was real this how it would look approach. It's a bad ass move they learned something from the past zoid figures. Cang toys already said this...The 2d render of razor claw will be worked on when they start or have started work on him already...So expect a completely different image in the future...Honestly Razor claw should look a menacing lion with a thick mane, after it will be the chest of Thunder king. As for bot mode have the symmetry like Fans Toy Sovereign with a chiseled physique.

 

I really wanted a Dinobots vs Predacons display, but after getting my first Gigapower bot, I've wildly underestimated how big the Dinobots are!

 

I think of it as, an individual Dinobot can overpower any Predacon, but they're in trouble when the Preds merge.

(Relatively speaking that is, as Divebomb can frequently outfly Swoop in aerial combat)

 

That's true. I can't wait to get the full set. Swoop vs Divebomb/Firmament would look amazing.

 

Must be nice my delivery date in the gigapower reissues keeps getting pushed back lol

 

Wish the original releases' swords were gold like the golden Landbull's.

 

Even better if they were chromed golden swords, just so it fits my head cannon that the swords are made of material strong enough to wound the dinobots.

 

You still can, the Dinobots are supposed to be bigger than them.

Kinda, the Dinobots can fight any foe without too much trouble.

 

We could debate just how well they really did against Devastator. I mean we could, I absolutely don't want to, but we could.

Now I want a T-Beast Devastator.

In terms of raw power maybe, but because of their lower intelligence, a smart tactician could probably come up with a means to outfox them relatively easily.

 

That was one of my favorite fights in earlier IDW, where Shockwave takes on all 5 Dynobots at once in mostly melee combat. As far as raw power, he's got nothing on nearly any one of them, but instead, he starts using their own strength and momentum against them to completely wreck them. Was really sad as a Dynobot fan to see, but gave me even more appreciation of Shockwave.

 

Intelligence is only an advantage if your foe is really, really, REALLY DUMB or slow.

I am smarter than many animals but I don't have a chance against a big dumb predator   without a previous plan and resources.

 

Victory Leo out so Razorclaw should be moving forward. Just joking but would like to get some updates.

 

I know it's way too late to change things, but I can always wish for a giant razorback. Something about a mean tusked boar just fits better in the team than a simian in my mind. Maybe I'm just off

I would buy a giant Razorback update (regular or t-beast), even if it didn't combine with this set.

Um, we're talking about those guy, right?


Would be cool to get mp/3p/updates/etc. of some obscure Beast era characters (i.e. ones that were never on the American show). Suppose that's a pipe dream.

 

There's supposed to be an Iron Trans one, and a Planet X one, but at this point, either one seems as likely to appear as the other. Heck, Cang Razorclaw is likely to release well before either.
