The offset labels bit is interesting indeed. As yeah, it was only ever on the freebie faction symbol sheets I noticed those issues.

There was a huge backlog of toys in the office, a lot of which were third party, that kept getting delayed in favour of HasTak sets. The latest 3P set was for Kingzilla, and the set only came out last year, for context. I asked the manager about this. His stance was that symbol sheets were adequate. Again, money on the table

When I worked in database management, I found an old 3P set that was inexplicably finished but never released. All they had to do was hit print, but a lot of things get overlooked; hence all the amendment sets. But to answer your question, no. There was no conscious effort to ignore third party products.

 

How often would employees put the stickers on their face? Because I would do that all the time.

 

The nano symbols for Titanmasters and similarly sized toys were printed 300+ copies at a time and flew about like fairy dust and got into everything.

Never saw anyone put stickers on faces, but new people would ask for some to take home to their kids and I had one subtly placed on my phone for the longest time.

EDIT: There certainly was that elated energy about. I regularly felt like I worked in Santa's workshop amid the elves. I started keeping something of a bingo card/bucket list of cool sets to print in my mind. The Dragonzord, USS Flagg, G1 Dai Atlas, Overlord, Star Saber, and a slew of other unicorns. Printed all that come to mind too.

I was curious every time I saw a lot of toys in the sample photos. Are they all bought at the company? Are there cases where employees lend or donate personally?

 

I was asked to lend a figure now and again for photos, and the odd rare figure was loaned from a staff-member or friend of the company.

Not sure what you mean in both questions. Are you asking how stickers are made, or how the production process changed overtime?

Could you give a specific example of one sticker from one set has the sandy/speckled finish you're referring to?

 

I don't know, all I can say is there is often a grain to even flat colors that are printed on the typical mirror/silver paper.

Some of my old orders of G1 sets weren't like that. Probably before the company name change.

 

Not so much a question but wanting to say that it’s awesome that you got to work for Reprolabels and that I deeply regret not picking up the set for Black Energon Unicron when I had the opportunity

 

Before you left, were you aware whether they were working on a label set for the rest of the Haslab Unicron figure, or is your great Maw set all that's coming out?

 

How did the hiring process come about?

 

Freebies? I paid those and, of course, they suck real bad, so that I decided that Toyhax doesn't do a good job overall. Glad to know it's not them!

 

I'm familiar with the Armada Unicron set TH2107 which is still for sale. Was there a different version for Energon Unicron?

As previously stated, Reprolabels put the job posting out in an email to their local customers, but it was flagged as spam. I just happened to check my spam folder that day. I was the only applicant.

EDIT: I forgot the best part. I had only just moved into town. The only reason I got the email was because of the G1 Dreadwind labels I ordered to make Botcon 2007 Dreadwing replica. That custom project not only turned out, but scored me a job too.

 

Interesting, that'd explain why I always thought the free faction symbol stickers seemed to be of lower quality.

How do they decide which figures to make sets for and when? I've been anxiously awaiting sets for Earthrise figures like Prowl, Ironhide, Barricade, and Bluestreak for months now and they've made lots of sets for other figures that have come out since then.

 

Is there a reason why Toyhax stopped shipping overseas? I ordered several times about two years ago, was delivered without issue, I tried to order again last week (though I cut my order in half due to how bloody expensive Toyhax got), but I got the notification that they no longer ship to my country.

WHAT!?! I'm so sorry that happened. There where a LOT of issues that arose trying to ship overseas when COVID-19 first hit, but at the time I left, Toyhax still shipped worldwide. I wouldn't know anything about shipping changes since I left. Regardless, I hope any issues get solved so you can get your stickers. That bums me out to even hear about.
