But I feel I'm in the minority when I say I wasn't too bothered by the lack of transformers doing their thing. I guess that's the trade off for having our bots speak more. Fair.

I see what you mean, but my point was sort of the same, which is there's a tradeoff where we got less transformations and instead we got.....whatever the fuck the KSI bots do. I do like the bots talking and interacting more, but imagine every KSI bot scene was swapped with a real transformation! Same amount of bots speaking but more of the good stuff.

 

This battery compartment is giving me a hella headache. I thought Zeta's Bee first batch had it the worst but this one is even lower or a simply received a damaged unit  
For now I ended shaving a lot of plastic and ordered a copper tape online   Hopefully that Dino Shop Head comes soon

This is pretty subtle, I wish I’d taken a before and after. Ignoring the eyes (as they’re obvious), do you see a difference here from the way he came? I added some gunmetal to the face.

 

On the bright side, Galvatron has arrived state side. On the less bright side.... they are using ontrac....

 

Woohoo! I got my from TCP today.

And I think I'm in love. His bot mode is soooo good. And I was pleased that the transformation doesn't actually feel as intricate in hand as it looks on videos. Though, as usual, the instructions suck. Like really, really suck. But everything fits together pretty well. My only issue is the tabs for the shoulders into the side panels are SUPER tight. I was somewhat alarmed by how much force it took to peg them in, and I'm not sure how much fun they'll be to unpeg when going back to bot mode.

After all the alarmism about the horns and potential breakage, I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that my copy came with the horns unattached and in a separate baggie. Is that a thing people have been experiencing? They peg right in no problem, and no breakage of any kind. Perhaps a quick fix from UT for the packaging issue? Here's hoping.

His truck is pretty good. Panel-icious, but nothing to be done about that given the transformation. And, once again, I want to give some serious props to whomever designed this beast. You score top marks in sorcery, my friend. I still think I prefer Dragoon, for sheer elegance. But it is awfully damn impressive how they managed to squeeze a boxy, flat track out a bot with as many sharp angles and curves.

Well worth the price of admission so far! If UT has to go out, this is one heck of an exclamation point on a fantastic run of film based figures. Kudos UT!

 

I think that the “easy way” refers to the notion that they’re basically soulless automatons where as Optimus Prime is a benevolent, shining light of empathy.

 

I got mine from TCP today too, was surprised to find them there too. Initially I panicked a little when I slid him out of the box and noticed his head was missing both, but the plastic wrap was just "hiding" that bag between his legs. (And yep, both of my horns are intact. Haven't had a chance to take him out and fiddle/transform him yet.)

 

I don't think these two are scale in alt mode but at the right angle it looks OK:

Yea I was wondering the same thing. I got mine today and I saw the horns were packed in a separate baggie. Are the guys saying they got broken horns saying they came installed and then broken? Or they broke after they put em on and transformed him?

I got mine in the first batch from Show Z and the horns were attached. My buddy just got his yesterday from bombusbee and the horns and side windows were in the bags with the mini fig and bumper bar.
