I passed on siege Jetfire, so this will be both SG as well as "stealth armor" G1 for me. My headcannon for G1 is he created an "electronic paintjob" (like in Animated) but a side effect is it discolors the faction symbol due to the "Akom* effect" * studio Akom being famous for numerous color errors in the G1 cartoon.... along with many other types of errors...
Iwas hoping he'd be more then a repaint like the others but it's fine I guess. I enjoy the original more however
I don't need it but it's gorgeous. And I'm a sucker for good alt schemes. And I have a dark Jetfire collection (g1 ko, Takara chug)
Looks ok, but not really interested. The best thing about it is the packaging. Too bad the original Jetfire didn't have a full window box. I would have bought an extra to keep MISB, lol!
Looks really good, surprised it's getting revealed so early, wasn't expecting it for another week or 2
This one was always going to be tough for me. The mold is just too large to really fit the small shelf that I have for SG and is honestly the least interesting color scheme of the lot. But I do have all the others pre-ordered so feels odd to skip the last one…
So glad I\'m cutting myself off from the Shattered Glass line. too many cool looking figures for so much money.
Again, there is no difference to Shattered Glass Jetfire than if that same repaint was labelled Evil Decepticon Zardak (who was repurposed from Dark Skyfire like SG Jetfire was). All that so-called supposedly “worn out concept” boils down to is Autobots repainted as Decepticons and Decepticons repainted as Autobots. The name on the packaging, the characterisation and even the insignia - not actually that big of a deal. So take Dracodon below. They are a Maximal repaint of Vertebreak. Nobody has a problem with that - but if the toy was labelled Shattered Glass Vertebreak on the packaging, some people would then get super pissy about Shattered Glass even though the toy itself is unchanged other than the insignia.
I'm with you. It's easy when it didn't appear on the shows I like. If they didn't look like that in G1 or WFC, I'm out.
i was expecting either some new molding or some new weapons or both so this is a little disappointing, still looks cool though.
I was looking forward to this - it's a colour scheme I really like. Though I guess I shall have to buy some green or purple energy blades now. I think I might see if I can get some silver ears made for him - I think they might suit him better that green or purple or black. Though he has so blue on his so that is an option too I guess & they have the advantage of also matching the original. But I do have the black ears I bought for the original and the white ones I bought as a novelty - so I can use those on the original and the black ones on the SG version I guess - that will match the previous Dark Skyfire too I gues. My only real complaint here is that I would have liked them to retain the logo swapping feature in it's entirity & having to Evil Autobot logos is kinda moronic - I don't care if the comic only ever has or had him as evil - it's more about removing play value and the "child's imagination" needlessly - especially as it look like they actually remoulded the part for no good reason . But I have some stickers so if it really annoys me I can always cover one of them over with a sticker. Perhaps go with a silver one then I can say it's a Heroic Decepticon or and Evil Decepticon as I choose too. [edit] My mistake the 2nd logo is on the armour - I misinterpreted the photo. So hopefully the swap gimmick is still there - so I have no complaints now then. But hopefully he's not a bonkers price (no £100 price Hasbro and no Amazon nonsense if possible). I will say this though it's a bit of a di** move to release two very high priced items so close together as they have, what with the JP exclusive being an expensive toy and this so soon after. But If it's on Pulse then I can spread the damage around a bit at least.
He does retain the faction swap gimmick, the chest armor only ever had the autobot logo, take the armor off and that's where the faction swapping plate is
Oh yeah - so it - the armour blended in to much on the close up I thought it was the normal chest twice at a glance - oh well then fingers cross they gimmick is fully retained then.
Well I don’t have a jetfire… but no blast effects? Black and green when black and yellow would have kept robotech references… and so he’s a heroic decepticon that goes evil?
There are definitely blast effects, you can see them in the package shot and they're attached in some of the photos. They're blue.
