Looking very accurate to his appearance in NOTHING! He looks really cool, but Henkel Dark Skyfire looks better.
Eh, maybe. I just wish they were a little more creative, like give SG Rodimus Starscream colors of gray, red, and blue.
At least Shattered Glass Nova Prime can double as being regular Nova Prime just fine give or take a swap of faction symbols. That said I'd really hope that if we do get a Nova Prime some day its not a redeco of a baseline G1 Optimus Prime. He should at least be a retool of some alternative G1 Optimus or a UT homaging prime. That should be obvious as to why if one look at art of Nova Prime. EDIT: Found the perfect Optimus for Earth Mode Nova Prime and its an Optimus design still in need of update.
Ok... I didn't want the normal colors cuz I had Generations and it was good enough for me. But this in Black just makes me want him just so I can pair him as partner to Trypticon. Hope he still has the faction swap gimmick.
Soooo… is this still the final SG release? Wonder if they consider the sub-line a success. Because I’d reeeeally like to see it keep going. I mean, they can’t end it without doing at least an SG Rodimus and Soundwave, right?
$110 most likely. Commanders will be going up in price to $100 and it’s rumored it will start with this one.
Almost… He’s a good stand-in. But the inner bot lacks the trademark goatee. And mostly I just want one from the nice new Studio Series Hot Rod mold.
For not being into the whole shattered glass concept, I sure am all in on these, and this one will be no different. Damn these "classic" molds and their repaints.
I’ll admit to not having the best eyes, but I wish they didn’t put this dark figure over a busy dark background.
Ok, so I am confused on that… does Rodimus Unicronus (or Hot Rod) have a purple Autobot symbol or a Decepticon? I’ve seen various pictures, but the lighting is unclear. I know the facial hair for Unicronus was definitely inspired by Shattered Glass Rodimus…
So what\'s his story? He got annoyed that Starscream only digs him out of the ice whenever they need transportation and joined the Autobots?
There are two partial answers to that question. Jetfire falls into that purely because he was a repurposed toy cuz I guess they felt the deco was evil looking (which to be fair Dark Skyfire WAS a Skyfire as a Decepticon) and that just so happened to line up colorwise with Optimus and Rodimus. However black being more prevalent among SG Autobots does have another reason albeit one that doesn't apply to Jetfire and Optimus. In the original SG fiction the Autobot Seekers are all cars who have different bodies but are unified by having a common color (black). It's meant to be the opposite of classic Decepticon Seekers where they all have different colors but share the same body.
