Baba and Bombusbee are sold out (for now) and US retailers don't put up pre-orders until colored, final photos are out.

  Please don't do that. Please?

Anyone see any pre-orders for Cliffy on TaoBao yet? Usually takes a couple of days for the Chinese sellers to pop them up.

I'm pretty excited about this guy. I received my NewAge Legends scale Bumblebee and Cliffjumper yesterday and transformed them from gorgeous little chibi alt modes into really slick and toony bot modes. They both have some major back-package going on and the huge chunks of window-and-roof hanging off their heels is faintly ridiculous, but they're Legend size so they get a fair amount of leeway for that. They did some really clever engineering on those guys, especially given the size. It's such a huge improvement from their first Bumblebee to the new one, that I think I'm going to have to get a second set of them for alt mode. That way I can pop off the heel kibble and they'll look freakin' fantastic. FT Cliffjumper looks super clean though (those feet?) and the only real kibble seems to be on the backpack. Hard to tell how chunky that will be from the renders but it definitely cleans up reasonably well.
Between the NA guys and this Cliffy from FT, I'm even more disappointed in the kibble-ridden mess that Takara released as MP-45. Glad I passed on it.

What's with the name... "Parkour"... is that the best they could come up with?

Probably for the best. Not even a 3d print is done yet.

Well, on paper this looks leagues better than MMC or XTB's.

In practice, though, I don't really feel like jumping through the hoops required to secure an overpriced preorder for an FT figure these days. Seriously, I had an easier time getting a PS5.

My hound has been on display on an open shelf, transformed a few times, no cracks or issues. Optimus with original knees- no issues. Starscream is pristine. MP36 without a scratch on the paint. Takara and Hasbro make 10,000+ of these. For most companies, acceptable “failure” rates can be between 5 to 10%. That means 500 to 1000+ can be “bad” and it doesn’t matter. I haven’t seen 500 complaints about any figure. I haven’t seen a single retailer post about a TT release being “buy at your own risk”. Seems most have fallen under regular release numbers. Hound definitely had a higher defect rate than most, but nothing has proven to me that it’s outside acceptable yields.

Also, I love FT, but I’ve had far more issues with them than TT. Instead of materials issues, Fanstoys suffers bad design issues.

I BUY Fanstoys knowing I’ll be 30%-50% disappointed in the engineering. As for throwing them at a wall… I can guarandamntee you that the first two would NOT be fine. Sovereign has many joints that can’t take stress. Thomas is very fiddly and would break in a dozen pieces as well. It’s fine you love Fanstoys. I love them too. I’m also honest. They have their own issues and major faults. I have 9 Fanstoys figures that are literally untransformable because I had to epoxy glue broken parts together. Sucks, but it’s the truth, and I won’t gloss over it because they make pretty toys. Just like I won’t bash Takara just because a number of their product have had issues. No product is perfect.
