I think people like the nostalgia of that G1 cartoon scale (in the G1 marvel comics they were Bay size), but they don’t know the weird visual consequences it will have in live action. Optimus being 20’ may sound cool, until you realize it’s 2’ bigger than a parking spot.

That small size is going to be super distracting in urban scenes.

After looking it up, I can definitely see how Optimus Prime from the bumblebee movie looks too small for his truck mode. But Bay Bumblebee is way too big for his car mode. So maybe something like 25 feet for Optimus, and Bumblebee stays his height from the BB movie?

    Yup, ain’t going to work

Well a Camero is 16’ (average cars from then and now are between 15 to 16 feet) so the Autobot car robot modes should be between 15’ to 19’. Why 19’? Because one you need a ‘little guy’ (Bumblebee’s 15’-16’) and most Autobot cars unfold from 15’ into robot modes to about 17’ to 19’.

Don’t believe me grab a MP car from a shelf and measure it in vehicle mode and robot mode, it compresses and unfolds respectively.

As for Optimus I’m game anywhere between 25’ to 32’. Anything smaller or bigger will look silly either from the real world or silly next to tiny Autobot car robots.

Yeah the VW Bee physical model is about 15’ because it has to be to match the real world car parts on the chest shoulders. Because 11’ will look really stupid.

And the image below shows a Bumblebee at about 11'. The size of the car parts is very distracting. That in live action, in a city is not going to work.

‘I’m okay with 32, but that might be the ceiling. Edited my original post :D . For reference grab a MMC Optimus or Megatron and put it next to a WFC Deluxe figure and that’s more or less your 19’ to 32’ difference

I’m so jealous! My hope is that by the time I go to Universal Studios park they will update to Bee/ROTB and have statues like that.

As long as BB has a damn voice and Bay isn't writing the story all will be well.

Personally I loved the mix of G1 with the details of the Bay aesthetic. It worked amazingly well for me. The BB movie OP is my favorite OP toy and is always on display. Why? Because he looks like G1 Optimus came to the real world and I would love to see more of this.

Honestly, as long as the story makes sense I can forgive a lot in how it's done.

But dayum, can we let go of this Bumblebee talking through a radio crap. The gimmick is stale af already.

Honestly, I would like to keep the same general design for Grimlock and the Dinobots. Personally found them more intimidating than their G1 designs.

Prefer many of the Bayverse designs, though not all. The designs from TF1 and RoTF are the best in my opinion. Didn't care for the humanoid designs that came after that.

I'm sort of okay with Travis Knight's more G1 aesthetic, but not overly in love either. If they break up the silhouettes a little more, and add more variation other than most being bipedal humanoids with human faces, then it might draw me in more.

Not the actual designs, but definitely some of the design language.

There's a great potential middle ground between the Bayverse's hyper-detailed stuff and the boxy G1 stuff.

Nakomake's Soundwave and Optimus' figures are more or less what I'd prefer.

This photo reminds me of something. You know, BB movie Bee is still a simplified down Bayverse Bumblebee since development of the film goes back to when this was a prequel to the Bay films. I'm not the biggest fan of BB's Optimus design though. But what if they simplified the 2007-DOTM Optimus design in the same regard of Bumblebee for a better streamlined design?

I’d prefer not, to ensure we stay as far away from this being in the Bay timeline as possible, but I have to admit out of curiosity I’d like to see what it looked like.
