I'm pretty sure this series is going to be loaded with brother complex nonsense since the show is supposed to be the events we've already seen but from Miyuki's pov. Which means I'm not terribly sure how much I'll be able to watch. I despise Miyuki as a character. So much so that I almost stopped watching the first two seasons. The most recent season featured her much less so that was great. Only reason I'm giving this a chance is because of the rest of the crew.

NGL, I do have some interest in catching up with both sequel seasons or the LN just to see what ridiculous nonsense they could bring to the table. I remember watching the S1 back in 2014, and find it very boring with the crazy amount of techno-babble expositions going on, and how repetitive each of the fight scenes with the MC curb stomps everything in his path.

It's been a long time since I watched anything Mahouka, but one thing I still remember quite vividly about the show is that the MC's sister is a massive "Bro-con" obsessed with her "Onii-Sama", and I meant that literally... it gets old, really fast.

I did watch the 1st episode of the Miyuki spin-off out of morbid curiosity and... the art style now has a more shoujo-look for some reason (For better or worse), and Miyuki characterization-wise is still the same as I remembered.

Wait, they're just revealing teh Dynazenon cast now? Didn't the show already end its run? Was it not simuldubbed?

As for Ufotable, that's kind of funny since they were just advertising online the other day how much they value their staff and treat them like human beings. No wonder they were doing that, they were trying to distract the general public from their owner's crimes.

Not sure I want to watch Demon Slayer now.

I'm currently watching Excel Saga. I remember seeing the first episode with a friend of mine back in 2008 but I never continued it after that until now of course. It's a pretty funny anime so far.

2nd episode was better, as it was more focused on Honoka's POV instead (who's a lot more likeable imo) & Shizuka ofc, since they're sort of a pair. I always did find it kind of funny that Miyuki is apparently so attractive to both male & female alike.

Now I'm just curious as to what the transparent stylized skirt things the girls wear actually are

Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki is a good show. It is so different from the usual Isekai show.

I’ve been watching Encouragement of Climb this past week. While it’s formatting is a little unusual (and no one ever talks about this show) I really ended up liking it.

What I mean by the format is this:

Season 1 is just 12 episodes with a length of 3 and a half minutes (along with an OVA of about 5 mins), so you only have around 40 minutes of content here in total once you take out the 30 sec Ending these. While these shorts are cute and, naturally, important for setting up the story and characters, they probably won’t knock your socks off. Well, maybe the OVA with the unexpected fanservice will.

The we have the second season with 24 episodes (and 2 OVAs), which ups the runtime to 13 and a half minutes with regular length OPs and EDs. This is where the show starts to really give you the atmospheric style you’d expect from an iyashikei, with the longer episodes allowing for longer scenery shots and a more chill pacing.

It does, oddly, take a bit before they really get the atmospheric scenes down to an art form. At first I noticed a number of the scenery shots lacking any background music, which caused me to realize just how much a role that plays in crafting that sense of relaxation. But as the season goes on, they figure it out and give us some really nice moments of mountain climbing with the characters.

Then we have the only regular length episode in the whole series, a 27 minute OVA released in between seasons 2 and 3. It probably could’ve been cut into two half-length episodes since there are two stories here, but regardless both of them are very sweet. The second especially gives us some important backstory for Aoi and Hinata that we didn’t know the full story of prior.

And finally (for now) we have the 3rd season of 13 episodes, retaining the 13 and a half minute length. This was by far my favorite part of the show. By now they have the atmosphere down-pat, and we get some really endearing character moments for Aoi and Hinata. I wish this had gotten to be 24 episodes like season 2, but I shouldn’t complain with how great what we got was.

And luckily, a 4th season was confirmed in March! There’s still a lot for the show to cover story-wise (since the 3rd season stops in early November, but they can’t even climb Mt. Fuji again until the following Summer), so hopefully we’ll get even more seasons after that.

With the formatting as it is, there’s only the equivalent of about 22 and a half regular-length episodes here. So it’s certainly not a long watch, and I for one and glad I took by time appreciating it. It may take a little to get its stride going, but I do fully recommend it. It definitely scratched that atmospheric slice of life itch in my case.

    Also Aoi best girl

Through various sales, I got the complete Ranma 1/2 blurays for under $30 USD each. Sometimes the special editions were cheaper than the regular. Go figure.

So finished the manga and anime. Not sure what to watch next....

I tried to like it, I really, really wanted to like it & watch it all the way through, but it was just not sticking with me & didn't feel right for a Godzilla-named series, so I gave up at episode 5. I even re-watched the previous episodes again just because I couldn't remember what happened before just because it was so "meh"

Yep, it's kinda like a Spice&Wolf take on the Isekai genre? though it sorta turns near the end of what looks like to be the arc they're covering, going by the Opening characters.

I thought it seemed a bit like Spice & Wolf also.
