my in universe explanation for why earthrise megatron is a mishmash of a cybertronian and earth tank is that during the crash down to earth megatron got heavily damaged and needed to be repaired, with the lack of spare parts the other decepticons needed to go around earth stealing tank parts to rebuild him. thats also why the decepticons need to scan disguises.

Spurred by the Studio Series Sweep figure, lol. Recently I started hc'ing that all of Scourge's Sweeps do have their own look to them and can be identified if someone is around them enough. No they don't have actual names, but Scourge knows which is which. Differences include variations in facial hair, nail colour, choice of weapon, wing shape, and voice. (Though voice is pretty canon) Of course hardly any Decepticons would really bother figuring out which one is which, but I imagine Cyclonus would also be able to tell them apart.

 

Even amongst Decepticons, the phrase "smarter than Sludge" is considered a damning with faint praise insult to one's intelligence.

The Dinobot himself isn't insulted by this, but only because you've lost him by the word "than".

 

Cog isn't a real Autobot, but an Autobot propaganda character, literally a posterboy, symbolizing and glorifying lowly grunt Autobots, especially those wearing the common Cog exo-armor body type series, as the "cogs" that make the great Autobot machine work. Before coming to Earth, the alt modes of Soundwave's "tapes" were high security data storage and transport devices whose movements were heavily monitored and regulated. Also, random thought, I kinda like this darker color scheme on him.

 

Instead the identical Sweeps, I would fill out Galvatron's team with the future Targetmasters, Misfire, Triggerhappy and Slugslinger
