Transformers fans explaining how the movie is ruined, just because a character has a different alt mode from before:

 

Tf fans when robot car isn’t 100% toon accurate

 

Transformers fans when a character doesn’t have the exact same license plate like they had in G1:

 

TFW when someone doesn't unconditionally embrace another nameslap from the live action movies

 

"Nameslap" He's a different car, Mirage is a snooty snobbish dickhead that shoots robot foxes for fun, what part of being an F1 car does that play in his personality?

 

We don't even know if it is going to be the same as G1 Mirage or a whole new character.

That said, if it was, then he absolutely should have been a Ford GT 40. A car specifically built to destroy Ferrari at Le Mans AND the more modern Ford GT was chosen as Mirage's alt. mode for Alternators (probably the BEST Alternators figure at that).

 

Like how Knightverse was made to destroy Bayverse.

 

Lets just hope that's true given the GT 40 was...kind of an embarrassment the first time around.

 

It will probably be a new interpretation of his original self.

I doubt it will be 1:1 with G1 Mirage.

 

Could we stop with the flamebaiting already. With all due respect none of these posts add anything substantive to the discussion and are just more of the same poisoning the well fallacy while failing to acknowledge the nuance in this discussion.

Maybe don't respond to people who may or may not exist since you don't provide a quote, otherwise your 'opponent' may be made of straw.

Then it's an overreaction to one guys opinion. Last I checked there were more "Transformers fans" than this one guy.

This is just cherry-picking the easiest one to respond to and going on to say "Lawl all Transformers fans-" I could easily do that too, but picking the lowest hanging fruit and using it as an example of 'all TF fans' is also a fallacious argument.

Presumably the latter, though I would find it kinda funny if they wanted a 'whole new character' but weren't dedicated enough to come up with a new name.  

I'm aware there's other pragmatic reasons for nameslapping, so I don't think it' a huge deal as long as they're a solid character in their own right.

Can't imagine him driving around in public as an F1 so this should be fine. (Apparently for the fandom, it's never the case though)

Is it really too much to ask for people to treat others as individuals instead of part of some collective. Jesus Christ people are still blowing a few not 100% positive reactions way out of proportion and (seemingly) using it as a form of self validation.

I believe he was just responding to all the "Tfw the Transformers fandom blah blah blah" comments above in a similar manner that they were.

 

The only problem is people actually are acting like the movie is a wash just because one character has a different alt mode/name than the G1 equivalent.
