You lucky dog. I ordered mine from TFS And they are saying it’s estimated to be freaking September. I emailed them and ask them if that’s correct and they just said well… that’s what the calendar says So here’s hoping I get mine before September LOL

Okay so this guy looks great.

I just have one issue with him and that is these hip ratchets. They are spaced far too widely and with his top weight his legs just splay out.

Maybe your table doesn't have enough friction. Mine doesn't have that issue on the place where I have him standing.

The new face sculpt and it's variations looks really, really good. The entire bot seems to have a DX9-type play-ability.

It will be interesting to see someone with both versions compare the two to see if there really is a difference.

Yes, I'd like to see that too! One of the reasons I skipped the first release is because of the lack of paint, making it too toyish and less MPish for my taste.

I'm surprised there have been no comparisons or reviews of this new version. I keep searching for these and nothing has shown up yet.

Yea, I'd just like to buy the new faces. They'd probably be fine on the original release.

Got my new Stratotanker today, and while I don't have time to transform and compare it to the original in all modes (working this bloody weekend, sorry), I can say that after playing with bot mode all the improvements seem to be purely cosmetic. It still has the same wide-ratcheted legs that are difficult to balance, the same slippery feet, and the same general floppiness all around, sadly. I've looked at both figures in bot mode and I can't spot any changes whatsoever, although I could be wrong, of course. Disappointing to say the least, and it doesn't bode well for other XTB/KFC re-releases.

However, the paint job really improves this guy; getting rid of the flat, cheap plastic effect and bringing out the details of the sculpt (which I think stands up well). The muddy plum purple has been switched to a slightly lighter shade, which is a small but noticeable change, but its the new faces that breath new life into the figure. You get a white painted version of the old face installed, but the newer sculpts are far superior and pretty toon accurate I think. The whole thing looks sharper, more defined, but it's a fairly subtle change overall, not something that leaps out and grabs you.

I would have snapped a couple of pics this afternoon, but I found out that the paint job on the gun has increased the size of the tab on the handle, and while I was trying to squeeze the bloody thing into the palm slot, it slipped and knocked off all the bastard fingers, scattering them to the four winds. Found 'em again, but it took over a goddamn badger-buggering hour, so no piccies. Anyway, if you were on the fence about this guy, I'd recommend picking up a copy, since this new version fits in much better with the current crop of MP figures. But if you didn't like the first version, I don't think this will change your mind.

Me? I like it. They could and should have improved it more, but I still like it.

I just got my XTB Stratotanker v2,0. Its worse than the 1.0!!! It has nice paint, but thats its "1" saving grace!!! ...[facepalm]... for some stupid ass reason they took away the wing ratcheting part so now the wings ABSOLUTLY CAN NOT hold themselves up in the 2.0! They immediately droop an fall down!
...I wish that was the worst of it. But it isnt.
The armature that broke on so many people; the bit the feet are on... you know that part that has to hold up the ENTIRE FIGURE; is made of SUCH WEAK PLASTIC this time.... and I know its weaker as I still have ver 1.0.... that it wobbles CONSTANTLY because its so soft!!! DO NOT BUY THIS FIGURE UNLESS YOU PLAN TO MIX AN MATHC PARTS FROM V1.0 AND 2.0!
An even that comes with a caveat because the 1.0 an 2.0 white parts are much darker muddly grey off white that the parts stand out.

....never debated returning a brand new figure until now. Hell, I even liked KFC Ditka. This SUCKS!!

My copy's wings don't have that issue. Maybe your copy was misassembled?

On both wings that assembled differently? I also tried knocking the pins into both wings in deeper with a pin punch so the soft ratchets could work. But it wont go deeper on either side it retains the gap that causes them to spin freely. So either I got one with EVERY QC issue in the book it could possibly have or you lucked into a fluke good one that didnt have them wing problems.

Had a very quick look at mine, and the wing ratchets have indeed been removed the in the new version. I don't have the wobbly wing problem though, the friction holds them just fine. The foot armature seems identical to the old one as well, but not had time for a detailed look. Maybe yours is a bit iffy?

Already removed them on both sides. On mine the pins were too long preventing it going into the roation point to let its teeth go into the recessed ratchet parts. So I removed the pins, grinded it down in my workshop then repunched it back in with some added glue fixing on the end for extra hold. Sits more flush now. But still not enough to make the ratchet work. Def either mold modified to remove the ratchet here; for a reason I cant even guess; or the mold has degraded here an the teeth are recessed just enough now to not work.
In the end I had to do the only polish or glue trick to add friction to make it work..... SO MUCH more of this figure needs this same fix... gonna be hours fixing this bloody thing.

...2.0 is improved.... my fat ol collector butt... irritating.

    Come on XTB.
They do know why people are crazy about Ft instead of them (even some of their figures artificially do look on par as Ft), don't they?
The main selling point of this version is just the faces, I'd buy those if this time they're in famous 'accessories pack'.
