I haven't taken the MP-52 flight stand out of the package, but from what I'm seeing it's not really worth the hassle. I'm just going to use Flightpose stand for jet mode.

The crack on my copy has not gotten any worse, but I've decided to return it anyway for a replacement instead of trying to fix it myself later.

Unfortunately, Amazon-Japan currently only does Return/Refund right now for it.

I'll try again with the chat option later on when its avaiable.

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. I would take a closer look at the hinges for the intakes to see if there’s something different. The intakes don’t tab onto the top grey pieces very securely on my copy. They tab but it’s more like they rest over the tabs while there’s inward pressure from the hinges keeping them on, if that makes sense. It’s not a very secure connection.

Good news bad news...I Future'd my copies ankles and they can now support poses in which the front of the shin guards aren't resting on the tops of the feet!

However I discovered I have two left wing hinges like a lot of people seem to. I wouldn't care except I think it's preventing the right wing from tabbing completely securely in jet mode, in case anyone in the US wants to trade hinges :D

Now that I’ve had MP-52 for about a week, I’ve covered the issues with my copy. Here’s some thoughts after handling it:
    • Transformation was intuitive for me for the entire lower body, arms and wings. Only part that took some time figuring out was the torso
    • Transformation makes use of a lot of 90 degree and 180 degree turns which plays a part in its intuitiveness
    • Not sure if there’s enough room to add ratchets for the ankles. The lower leg would have to be redesigned to accommodate them.
    • Transformation can be done faster if some of the joints/hinges(used just for transformation, not for articulation) were looser and if there was more clearance(especially when going back to jet mode as there’s not a lot of room to work with when aligning the panels over and aft of the arms)
    • The arm articulation is excellent. Reminiscent of Robot Damashii figures by Bandai yet this one has perfect transformation(as in no parts removal/swapping needed)
    • Leg articulation is decent, far better than MP-03/11 but the thigh swivels are hindered by the thigh cover over the hips and the feet don’t pivot far forward and back at the ankle. For example MP-36 has better foot articulation
    • The hands are done very well. Manage to look rounded like the cartoon yet have full articulation. Usually I see fingers like this with angles and straight edges, pleasant surprise to see these rounded. Some of the best MP hands so far.
    • Instructions using photos would be far easier to go by instead of the CAD drawings Takara used. Takara should take a cue from Bandai on this(and since 1 of the SOC designers also sometimes provides MP artwork for them, hopefully he can suggest this).
I do enjoy handling MP-52 more than MP-03/11. Easier to pose, much easier to balance in robot mode even with the loose ankles(forward and back).

I finally decided to take a good look at my hinges and just realized that it's exactly like yours. Doh!

I'm not going to sweat it though, because it's been able to be tabbed in fine in both mode and I would have never otherwise noticed it.

I do like MP-52 a lot, but man does the warts keep popping up on this thing. Going to have to think long and hard about whether or not to keep those preorders for Thundercracker and Skywarp.

that last point is sooooooooooooooo on point , I now really don't like this booklet style manual. And the CAD image is too busy with line and also too small to make out what to do exactly. Not to mention you can do things differently to make transformation more smooth instead of following manual

Yeah I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize it, ha. It's also entirely plausible the tabbing problem has nothing to do with it!

That's why I said that the transformation could be tweaked to make the F-15 cockpit to resemble the animation model.

    F. You got me curious about mine, so I checked and I have the same issue—2 lefts, so unfortunately we can’t trade (anyone else?). But my wing closes fine so there might be something else going on with your copy Chchchch.

Edit: didn’t see @GX9901DoubleX ’s comment on your post, Chchchch—I guess I’m not adding that much new info haha.

Has anyone attempted to remove the fake cockpit to see how it would look with the real cockpit? Or would it sit way too far back?

This will have to be the permanent resting place for the feet because of the ankles.

No I still appreciate it and thanks, that tells me it's probably not the hinge causing the problem, I may need to just trim the tab a little or something!

I'll still probably trade hinges if the opportunity arises though :D

I'm actually pretty much OK with the instructions as they are. Sure the lines are busy at times but you also have to remember that Bandai items are normally much easier to transform without many parts being in the way. Have you seen 3P instructions? They are a mess because of this with some exceptions.

The only thing I'd like to change is if they come in some sort of booklet like they used to instead of an obnoxious home floor plan, let me tell ya!
