I have a local person selling them misb for $340cad, and given all the qc issues, maybe I should buy from a place I could return it if something breaks... or should I risk it?

The crack on my copy has not gotten any worse, but I've decided to return it anyway for a replacement instead of trying to fix it myself later.

Unfortunately, Amazon-Japan currently only does Return/Refund right now for it.

Check your shop if they can do a return/exchange for you if you do decide to return your defective item.

 

They did respond, actually, the thing I was concerned about what if when I was responding to them on my phone, and it was responding to myself for some reason. Not sure why I thought that though, because I was obviously getting auto responses from the store, lol. I'll call that on myself, total blond moment, lol.

 

Anyone know how to safely remove the pins on this thing - like on the shoulder pilons? Or have done so?

Did anyone with broken feet end up with a parts copy they aren't returning? I'm on the hunt for replacement pieces for the cracked pieces that hold the vertical stabilizers. I'd love to buy em off someone if they have a figure they're partsing out.

 

How difficult did you find the leg to be disassembled and reassembled, by chance? I had gotten 2 copies, and was going to swap parts to make a perfect figure, and normally I'm ok with things, but I saw all the pins and got a little nervous about it for some reason

 

Yeah, used to be I'd worry about paint scuffs. Now I've got to deal with that and cracking plastic, wrong parts, etc.

 

@Destructimis Prime can you describe how you removed the rivets on yours, here?

 

Least expensive option I could find was l from my location was USPS for $68.50.

 

I gave one copy to my friend’s son since I’m totally responsible for getting hooked into this dirty hobby of our. My other two are for robot and alt mode. My broken copy is not that broken as in needing a little future to tighten up the right ankle. If conditions ever get worse, I may consider other options.

 

Just a heads up for the cracks beneath the blue vertical stabilizers. As of now, if they’re not cracked out of the box, you can’t tell if they will crack until you swivel them for transformation. Neither side was cracked on mine out of the box, but the right side cracked during the 1st time swiveling(very carefully as I had read reports of cracks prior to receiving my copy) for transformation. If you’re planning open these and handle them, those are the areas I would check 1st since you can just swivel the blue stabilizers in jet mode without needing to transform anything. Keep this in mind if you’re getting replacement parts or trading.

Super disappointed to hear even undamaged copies are cracking after being transformed the first time. Agabyss could only do a refund for me so I had to pay a 30 dollar late tax to TCP to get a replacement copy from a retailer that stillhad stock (BBTS still doesn'thave stock). If this copy has the same issues, then I'll be buying exclusively 3P moving forward. I've never had to work this hard to address a defective toy with MMC, or FT.

 

Shit sucks man, it’s not an ideal situation so we can only hope the next runs aren’t affected so much(if at all). The reason I made the post about the cracks beneath the stabilizer is because you won’t know if your replacement(be it the whole figure or just the parts beneath the stabilizer) will be okay unless you swivel the stabilizer for transformation. The good thing is the cracks on the right side of my copy haven’t gotten worse and as of now, don’t seem like they will in the future.

 

I appreciate the post as I'd never have known to be on the lookout otherwise. I've never had a bad Takara experience so this has been a real eye opener for me. The abysmal quality of this release couple with retailers only being able to offer refunds, or exchanges has really scared me off TT. Couldn't cancel TC, but I've cut my Skids and SW POs and will stay far, far away from any releases unless reviews are flawless. I'm just glad I was made aware of the issue so it can inform my behavior moving forward.
