Yeah, they’re safe. I think some people are just hesitant because they’re used to Western retailers having such limited stock while some others have more access.

 

I roughly scale it to match. It's not accurate 100% accurate but for comparison only. I look at all the pic on the internet with a close to match perspective.
And I look at the real micro cassettes size as a size reference.
I do not randomly draw line overlays on random soundwave photos.

 

Not to mention, even if there is a 1/8-1/4” variance, that sort of stuff is offset so easily by stance and whatnot.

Knowing that they’re about an inch taller than TT versions is good for an offhand measurement… If anyone wants a more exact scale, they can just buy the damn thing.

People are hesitant because they are new. 8 years ago, people were convinced BBTS and tfsource were the only options. People didn’t want to order Quakewave from “untrusted” US places like The Chosen Prime or Toy Dojo, let alone ordering direct from China which was throwing your money away. Then a few places like tf-direct, Babo and netclown won people over. Now, there are tons of Chinese vendors that are considered safe. However, when a new site appears, people are naturally hesitant, especially with preorders that require up front deposits. Will they even be around in the 9months to a year til the product releases? That’s all.

I know in the past 10 years I’ve known close to a dozen or so places that have disappeared, some taking thousands of preorder dollars from customers with them, with no recourse.

I’m not saying bombusbee will be the same, I’m just explaining some of the reasons for hesitation.

This is interesting. I have basically stopped using all retailers which require significant payments prior to shipping/warehouse arrival for this reason.

3P products get delayed or recalled so frequently that I think it’s really irresponsible for them to demand full payment up front on a $200 figure which may not release for over a year. They’re basically asking for an interest-free CD from you and then limiting your refund options afterwards.

I put down $15 with Bombusbee for Tesla - which I likely won’t keep - and two deposits with Robotoyz for the FT Dinobots, but that’s the extent I’m willing to hand over cash for some of this stuff.

Kool Toyz - which has quickly become my favorite retailer - will let you pre-order with about two clicks of a button and no money down until they ship. TCP obviously does the same.

ShowZ has been good about UT’s Nero and how rumors of a delay happened where they refunded me in points but held the order just in case, but I am not crazy about pre-paying for anything these days, even with them where I own a membership.

If there is a treatment for whatever condition you have, I really hope it never finds you.

Yah I don’t get what any of this is based on, do we know a sure height for SW, or is there some universal point of reference in any of the photos? A quarter, A PEN (holla if you get this), maybe a soda can or the obligatory pack of cigarettes?

incidentally, I’ve been bitching for a new soundwave since mp13 came out, always met with a singular chorus of “why? He’s pretty much perfect as is…” omg that thing is horrid. Particularly in the thighs.
Now that someone has almost completely realized my vision (sans yellow eye, inserts) I stand vindicated.

Well I just ordered mine from the bombusbee site so let\'s hope it\'s a legit site that is just getting started in the game. But still went with showzstore for the RP-01B.

 

I was kind of lukewarm on this figure, and thought the price is too high for something that I didn't really need, but I just decided to put in a preorder with Bombusbee. I probably need some sort of therapy...

Anyway, it's my first order with Bombusbee. Hopefully their final price will be in line with everywhere else.

Got the rest of the cassettes from bombusbee so thanks to whoever mentioned that

 

Ironically we measure height in feet and inches, and weigh ourselves in stones and pounds (14lbs to a stone, fyi, American friends). We also still have pints of milk and beer, and measure distance in miles.

We had to fight the EU to retain those last two. Bloomin' EU and the full-on switch to kg, km, etc!
