I am, but I'm afraid 70 quid is a bit too much for me, even though he's really rare, that's two days of work for one Voyager. Really hope for a reissue at some point (like the cobra Island figures got).

Got my Galvatron in today from ID Toys, wrong shoulder version as expected.

LOVE THIS GUY! He's such an awesome figure, one of my favourite characters, the figure just oozes personality.

I straight away removed all the battle damage with Surgical Spirit from Boots, came off super easy, no issues, and no residue or dullness as people worry about with surgical Spirit, might try to take it off the cannon too but it doesn't bother me too much.

Decided to do the shoulder fix straight after, followed some youtube videos, and it is not the easiest, seriously, even for me this was nerve racking and a pain, the main issue is trying to get the pins out, after that it's not too bad, but that first pin just wouldn't budge, ended up marring some of the plastic but only on the inside and after the mod it can't be seen, still tight too. Once I did the first, the second was a lot easier to remove the pin, so think it varies per figure. anyway, mod done, and he's boss now!

Not even had chance to transform him yet and he's already shaping up to be one of my favourite figures this year.

You take the g1 toon part, i take the bw s3 part. :D :p

I'm getting itchy not having a figure to fiddle with for the past few weeks. When they get released from storage, gonna spend a whole weekend setting them up and enjoying them. And house contracts were exchanged today, so yey! Next Wednesday, we move to the new house!! Finally!!

I'm into this orange - is it possible to get one of these 'domestic' exclusives outside of Japan? Can't even sign up for an account on TomyTakara mall without a Japanese address.

Unless it's an old prototype image they are using, the Takara version seems to have red highlights on the hull, where the mainstream version has yellow, clear blue windows on the bridge instead of yellow and a clear blue plastic orb in the centre of the bridge instead of yellow. Plus Mainframe gets a blue painted visor.

Somewhere like IDT might get it over here, I got both version of Nemesis Prime from them - but it's a big item for retailers to stock on the hope of novelty sales. Otherwise it will a matter of trawling the far East toy sites. For example, Luna Park got the recent Takara Rainmakers, which have slightly different paint deco's to the original figures.

    on it.

been reading all of your discussions regarding chosen genres of fanaticism, sports and the like, it's been really interesting to see all of your takes.

i never really liked football as a young kid (my transformers fandom pre-dates my football fandom by about 4 years), and i've never really gotten into the whole tribal team thing. when i was a kid i remember drawing a footballer who had manchester united on one sock and manchester city on the other because hey - why cant we all get along?

but i started playing a bit when i started my new school when we moved house since my new friends all played, and found i was good enough to at least hold my own against the other kids. which is why i enjoy playing football far more than i do watching it. i used to organise games between friends for a couple years before injuries got the better of me.

i'll still watch football and was a fairly devout manchester united fan for a long time, but i never really bought into the whole tribalism of it, it all feels a bit arbitrary and base.

it's just the way it is that some things are societal norms and some things are not. in terms of robots vs kicking balls - supporting a football team is an inherently tribal and social thing because you are associating with a group. toy robots are traditionally associated with spending time indoors on your own. not that there's anything wrong with doing that, but society shuns that because it's not social by definition. (even if the internet is allowing what used to be more private hobbies to now become shared - and whilst social stigma is definitely diminishing with geek culture pervading everyday culture, it is still there especially amongst social groups that haven't really needed to embrace technology for social reasons).

social acceptance is a big driving factor in behaviour. recently read about this social experiment from the 50s which shows the lengths to which social factors can alter behaviour (The Asch Conformity Experiments - Futility Closet).

in terms of physical health, i was a chubby kid and PE was never my favourite part of school (unless it was football.) i used my asthma as an excuse for many a run.

but i have recently been getting back into physical health, somewhat cleaned up my diet, hitting the gym regularly, starting running and playing football again at the age of 34. whatever reforms need to be made to the teaching of physical education they should be prioritised. i have had various mental health issues since i was fairly young and nothing has sustainably improved my mental health like improving my physical health.

bit of a ramble. thanks for reading.

Aggro in reply…. Hmm. Missed this one earlier, but to clarify, I did ask what happened to ‘live and let live’ and my question was, when a hobby such as collecting is so heavily stereotyped and judged, I find it strange why participants would find it acceptable to then stereotype and focus on ‘negative’ aspects.

I see your pass-agg attempt to kick a hornet’s nest and incite a dog pile was ignored. Maybe that’s a better solution hey? :)

I've seen elsewhere folks pointing out that it's an "EX" release, so, wow, maybe it is? And I think his visor's not painted blue, it's because his transparent back of head and visor part is on the same clear plastic sprue as the other clear parts. It's gonna be even more of a swine if the better deco is the Import version, dangit!
I actually thought you'd actually read it, understood, seen the positive side of my post, as it was intended to be as the opposite of incitement, not to start anything but to nip more argument and acrimony in the bud, and been the bigger man. Frankly this belated pass agg attack response is disappointing, bit of an own goal, in fact. ;)
Hudds and Halifax, Bud, Bradford remains possible but not likely on that evidence, though of course it may be store managers' choice of stock. Might do a recon run to Leeds for shits n' giggles tomorrow, I'll keep you posted if I do.
    ALRIGHT!

Oddly cross country was the only exercise I was any good at in school, s the jocks ran off at full pelt to an "insurmountable lead", I pootled along at a sedate, steady pace and generally finished in the top couple of the vast numbers of us.
Oh yeah, I may have been fat and ungainly, but boy can I budget!!!

The desk MP crew is bolstered by a TW Seaspray (I am such a TW fanboy, its appalling), cheap and semi-damaged as all my deskbots are.

    Laters kids.

Chucking it down here, going to kill my little boot on the way in tomorrow, mind you, it has generally been a bit hopeless and chintz-full other than some Playmobil and the big Minidisc/Warmachine score a few weeks ago.

I use this same kit on him to distinguish him from Mirage. The fittings are pretty ropey, aren't they? In principle, being able to adjust the peg lengths sounds useful, but it just doesn't work in practice.

For sure. Was the same as the Huddersfield one last time I was in though, the same Battlemasters and Prime Masters.

I'll take it off your hands for £45!

True story- l nearly bought a new one from RK two months ago or so, but decided to sleep on it. Less than 24hrs later the first leak broke about a new Motormaster in Legacy!
