He's in the Fearsome Four of Decepticons. There's no way he won't have a gold version.

 

It’s true that he’s a major character, but it could well be the case that the gold repaints are a specific reference to ‘The Golden Lagoon’, an episode of the old cartoon where a number of transformers were coated with golden ‘electrum’.

Megatron, Soundwave and Reflector turned gold in that episode, but Shockwave didn’t. Come to think of it, that probably explains why we haven’t had a gold Galvatron, either.

 

I thought the gold repaints were specific to the golden lagoon episode. I don’t think shockwave was gold in that episode

It works really well on grey/silver 3d printed stuff to give it depth, kinda like a panel wash, but with the added benefit of a glossy clearcoat.

 

Got mine in today. Very nice proportions, tight joints, classy finish (EX). total upgrade from my Bridge Watcher. The only thing I didn’t love are the thighs when you transform, scary to apply pressure to get them to slide in, but to be fair they aren’t little hip pegs under the skirt, it’s a nice solid hinge that can probably take the stress much better than most.

Guess I’ll paint his eyeball too, when you catch the light just right it’s alright but mostly it’s just dead looking.

 

Just received and opened my Galactic man version,first of all box is very tiny and art seems coming from 80's generic sci fi package toys of those years,not just original version of Galactic.
About toy,mine is darker as grey than pics found on this topic,very good ,in that case must have been the lighting and red eye is pale but not dead,from certain angles red is visible,about weak points,legs hips are not loose but neither strong as joint shoulders,I expected stronger legs. At the end, anyway I 'm very satisfied ,in fact as colors is even better I expected.For NA Shockwave I'm OK no plan to buy other version, now time to wait their Constructicons.

 

I’m finding the grey version fascinating in photographs, like everybody is photoshopping a greyscale Shockie into their pictures. It is amazing how desaturated and unnatural he feels, in a good way, of course. Someone slap a purple decepticon insignia on him, blow my mind!

 

I’m dipping my toes into the Newage pool for first time with this figure and the first two constructicons! I’m excited to start on these finally!

 

Not a bad part of the pool to dive into. Cyclops is excellent.

Ex has arrived and newage has knocked it out of the park yet again. The barrel in back transformation is genius. Paint is amazing. Tight joints per the norm. Another winner.

Half ass painted the hands and eye. Wanted to get the pink like the chest bit. Eh
