I completely missed this. That sucks. Soundwave and his minions are my absolute favorites of all the Transformers. I’m getting sick of this lame tactic by FansToys. Hopefully I’ll be able to find it without having to pay eBay scalper fees. Surprised that Buzzsaw isn’t included as part of the cassette pack. Ratbat too.

Um...logic dictates that the bolded would only contribute to preorders selling out faster.

Sometimes I get the impression that people don't really understand how preorders work. Like, if pre-orders take a long time to sell out it just means people took longer to buy them. If they sell out in an instant it's because everyone happened to buy them at the same time, which they're obviously gonna do if they all know the exact time and place the item will be available. The same amount of orders are being put in either way.

 

Damn. My Soundwave just broke... I really could\'ve used this as a replacement... Sheeeeet

My point was that getting a FT preorder in is easier than, for example, Macross. Probably due in part to reasons as you explained it. But anyone who finds getting a FT PO secured difficult would probably find Macross collecting a new level of frustration.

 

You’re right it could be even worse. I think the thing that is frustrating most people is this is a new, post COVID thing. I’ve been collecting since 2015 and bought the dibots on the original releases. Back then I bought 1 that had been out for 12 months and was still in stock, and preorders were just if you want one tell us and we will order the amount needed to fulfill the demand. In addition to this most sites who stocked, ended up with a good chunk of general stock afterwards so you could pick one up in the month after release if you didn’t have the cash to preorder.

Fast forward 6 years and stock doesn’t meet demand, you can be waving your money at them and they don’t seem to want it.

Hell I’m worried I’ve got the first 4 stunticons and could miss the 5th because I don’t see the preorder in time.

Most other companies are not operating in this way, I’d rather have fewer new figures a year and everyone can have one, than a lottery for 10 figures and everyone ends up with a patchy collection.

 

Hopefully none. That figure is an all time great, and a piece of TF history.

 

Biggest question for me is whether or not FT will pointlessly make this guy frustrating to transform into a cube, or make him fun to transform like Takara was able to almost a decade ago.

 

Keep your eye on ShowZ, who still haven’t posted, last I checked. And the sites like TCP, KoolToyz, et al, who require no-money-down POs… People cancel those all the time.

All of those are good, trustworthy sites too.

 

I still can't figure out the exact size of the cassettes. They're definitely not 5+ inches tall. At the same time it seems they're bigger than the official MPs... which would make mixing and matching difficult.

Judging by these two pictures I'd say FT Runvle/Frenzy are at least a head taller than TT.

Do not take this as gospel because it’s just something I heard and it may only apply to certain sites but another member who has been specifically tracking this issue said that he has come across instances of Chinese retailers saying that they won’t be transferring pre-orders for this guy.

It may not apply to ShowZ, but I’ve also been trying to get them to confirm that.

 

Saviers toys maybe? Their prices for fanstoys stuff is usually reasonable and feedback for the store seem to be good. Their current acoustic wave listing is sold out but that was before the whole name change fiasco so maybe they'll open up preorders again. You need to be on the look out though because their preorders for fanstoys stuff usually sells out really quickly.

 

Showz and Baba seem like they are honouring the preorder since it links through to the new pictures from my orders?

 

If soundwave is 9” like tfsource listing states, It takes about 2.33 - 2.5 Rumbles to equal 1 soundwave.

So I’d estimate that they are some where around the 3.6” - 3.9” mark.

 

A piece of TF history? Why do you hope, or care for that matter, if anyone is putting it up for sale? Very odd statement.
