oh most definitely, I have been lucky so far where none of my figures have had major issues. I bought a used star saber a few months ago and the only real issue with him is the sword handles being too loose in his hands. Tarn's right shoulder being slightly loose is pretty bad, but that's more because of my user error than anything else, because I displayed him pointing his cannons forward for a few months

Sucks that your window broke off man, I think you were just extremely unlucky with your copy

To be honest, the reasons why I buy stuff nowadays, whether tf related or not, are display-oriented. Like sure, maybe the 2 diecast figures (not talking about your opinions/decisions or judging them, I'm just relating it to the scenario you've provided) might give me more pleasure in terms of fun and quantity, but having arguably one of the best megatron designs to ever come out (MTMTE megs is still my top) in figure form displayed on my shelf provides a better display presence than say, 2 regular metal builds. But transformers will always be my no.1 franchise so obviously, that has sway in my buying habits. I have owned metal builds and K3 figures, and K3 figures definitely have a more premium feel and look to them. It might seem like just a regular diecast figure in pictures and videos, but from my experience, their heft and designs stand out when you have them on your shelf. I don't mind owning a single piece from a line if they look like they'll display nicely, hence why I currently only have the strike gundam with his striker packs from the metal build line and don't intend to buy any more besides the strike rouge (what can I say, magenta is my guilty pleasure, I can't resist a cool design that rocks a magenta-focused paint scheme).

I guess my point is, while collecting new stuff is fun, that excitement you experience when messing with something new fades eventually. As you implied, the pleasure and entertainment factors often dictate decisions when purchasing a new piece to join your collection, but I have learned over the many years of buying figures and regretting it 2 months in, that sentimental feeling fades the slowest. That feeling of "ooh a new toy to mess with" fades pretty damn fast, like a month or two after you own them, and then you're left with the decision if you like it enough to keep it or not; So I tend to ignore that feeling when deciding what to invest my money in. I guess you can kind of ask yourself this when you eventually reach a conclusion of whether you would like to purchase him, is the sentimentality of that design: a) strong enough that you'd look at it a few months in when he's no longer "shiny and new" and still be happy with your purchase, and b) worth the insane aftermarket cost that figure will eventually and is probably already going for in the aftermarket?

Because that's the thing with flame toys, the prices shoot up drastically once the regular stock sells out, so if you can't or decide not to jump on the preorder train when those go live, it usually means you'll have to pay absurd prices if you decide to buy them in the aftermarket. That's why I tend to preorder those I think I'd want, even if i'm not 100% certain, because even if I change my mind before getting the figure, I'd still make a decent profit selling them after the item is released, which can be used for other purchases. Of course, that rule isn't set in stone because I don't print my money and sometimes my wallet gets tight, but it tends to play out better than sitting on the fence until it's too late and spending unnecessary amounts of money to obtain them after release.

As for loose joints, I can assure you megatron's are tight. Like really tight. Judging from reviews and my copy, as long as you don't play with him extensively (like every 5 minutes), those joints will hold for a long time. In fact, my tarn, while looser than when I first opened him 3 years ago, is still extremely sturdy; And I messed with him a lot. His arms can still hold poses perfectly, it just doesn't feel as satisfying to move those joints as it did initially.

Really great thoughts, especially on the value of sentimental attachment. Haven’t thought of it quite like that. Yeah, I think I’m in.

I'm just waiting for FT to come out with a G1 Furai model of Rodimus Prime and Megatron. I passed on the IDW versions of these (but funny enough loved their IDW Optimus and passed in the G1).

    Pros:

    Nice hefty figure
Creative assembly and well thought out articulations
    My Victory Leo finally arrived!

    Cons
Combined figure is extremely back heavy… not likely to stand long without support
Feels fragile and black glossy plastic is easily scratched 744ACB11-D1D7-475F-9157-1D9970B1E2C8.jpeg E4F8EB46-787D-45A5-8CC7-3981FE2F5315.jpeg 62E2622E-3F88-41FC-9ED5-BC8CAFE9EAB5.jpeg

Wow. The 3k line is not something I’ll ever own, but that Cyclonus is a beauty. I’d love something like that, maybe stripped down a tad, to go with Banzaitron and Bludgeon in the Furai line.

I’ve been trying to track down a copy of the regular Drift model kit for a reasonable price. Everyone online seems to be out of stock. According to Barnes & Noble website, they are also out of stock at all stores that I would have access to. Does anyone have any leads on how I might be able to obtain this kit? Thank you.

Wasn’t planing on picking up 3 FT kits today but who can say no to 40%off.
Not sure if the sale is across the board but maybe worth checking your local hobby lobby.

It's still part of the KuKaKu line up of figures, but a technical foul.
