Never understood the hate for Bombusbee. They stagger preorders and I don't mind paying a meager $15 up front when I've had nothing but good experiences and open communication with them.

Baba is like, the OG for 3rd party TFs. Extremely reputable and has direct connects to 3P companies. I personally love Bombusbee, never had an issue ever with them.

 

I just did my first po with them for hoist but have ordered a few in stock items and it all went smooth. Not concerned and dont mind the deposit either. Gonna pay it at some point anyway

 

Heh, I'm amused that there hadn't been more talk about the lack of Buzzsaw.

But yeah, the cassettes have always been a damned if you do/damned if you don't. Like some people want the cassettes to all come with Soundwave, and if they don't, they're all, "What a rip-off, these companies are trying to bleed us dry by making us buy multiple things!"

BUT, if they do come with all the tapes, other people and complain that Soundwave doesn't come with only the cassettes they want and nothing more all, "Why do I have to pay for Buzzsaw or Ratbat, I only want Laserbeak, Rumble and Ravage!"

It doesn't matter who this came with, someone was going to complain at the choice and be all, "Why couldn't he come with X and put Y with the tape pack I wasn't going to buy!" and its all a conspiracy.

And wow, that Toy Dojo pre-order at 3pm lasted less than 5 minutes.

 

Will the takara cassettes fit in this guy?

 

No way of knowing until someone here actually gets one.

Kind of figure they won't, seeing as how they want you to buy theirs. Can't believe this stuff sold out in minutes...

 

If they do, would that mean that Takara and FT have been working together on this?

 

I can't imagine them not. The cassettes are based on a real world object, so it seems weird to arbitrarily change the size.

I like the white... but the more chamfered and rounded extremities on the prototype looked better. These pics look like MP-13+ or similar.

 

It's pretty crazy that the pre-orders are already sold out, but it's Fans Toys, so it's to be expected. That $250 price tag makes it easier for me to say no also, haha. Very tempting, but I'm curious how the TT version with look. I definitely like how the knees, leg panels, and the faces can be changed between toy and cartoon versions for this. It's so all-in-one!

Speaking of prices though, the price tags on these babies are breaking me. FT makes some beautiful figures, last one I purchased was Astrotrain, but anything over $200 and it's hard to commit. Same goes for TT MP's as of late. The QC issues especially make it difficult to swallow. Thankfully, FT figures for the most part are pretty sturdy and well designed. At least that's what I remember the general consensus to be.

 

Definitely prefer the white, but the thing about his limbs, mostly his arms, looking different rings true to me.

I was thrown off by how his legs appeared different, but it’s mostly his forearms which seem odd in some way.

 

I was lucky with the others I wanted but toydojo went out under a minute. I had him in my cart at 3pm and 20 secs later he was gone. I get that I can go to some China sites, but damn. I think I’m done with living like this. There has to be a better way, the bubble will pop, prices will go back down, or any other way I tell myself this will get better needs to end discussion in my head. Wow it’s nuts

Is there somebody (preferably in Europe) who's going to buy the cassettes but doesn't need Ravage? I'd buy the cat from you...

 

Cassettes scale is whack though in the toon. Like you say sometimes they are much closer to the other bots, other times Frumble would be human sized and Ravage would be like an actual big cat. For me the MMC cassettes are too big, especially anywhere near a human, even the bigger scale 3P ones. And they just gotta fit inside Soundwave!
