I'm done, this was something I was looking forward to but this new pricing is just to much. I'll just keep what I've got already on pre-order and just call it a day, it's just not worth it.

Yea... I don't think I can keep this up either. I don't even buy TT releases often unless I can find them for a steep enough discount. At least if I don't like this I can sell it no problem. The deadend preorder scares me... So does Mirage and Jazz... I haven't paid over $115 usd for any of my carbots and I don't plan to change that.

 

I hate to say this but it's almost exactly what I was expecting, and if anything, a little lower. Not that this is a good thing because it probably isn't, but I'm curious where people drew the line here.

And I wouldn't let yourself get too down if this doesn't work out for you because there are more claims that TT Soundwave 2.0 is right around the corner, which means the KO TT Soundwave 2.0 is just around the next corner. You're probably smarter for waiting to get the one you really want.

 

It's a lovely looking figure and a definite improvement on the official - but nowhere near enough so to justify either the price or the hassle trying to source one.

 

I will be getting their version of soundwave, but my Fanstoys collecting days are almost coming to an end. And I think we can all agree on that Blitzwing and Dead-end will be the last straw for some.

 

Any places still left to preorder both?

 

Each release looks a little more slavish to the cartoon than the last. They just look less and less interesting. If I wanted to watch the cartoon, I would watch the cartoon, not drop thousands of dollars to create a glorified 3D screenshot of it. /rant

They put up some pre-orders ~1am ish, but they're opening up another set of preorders at 3pm ET today.

 

It's the same kind of information we always get - clouded and unconfirmed - but no matter how much the loudest cheerleaders wave their pom-poms, I just don't think that Takara has this spiteful, roomful of lawyers with an axe ready to grind.

 

I've never heard of them before. Do they have the same sort of discount that most Chinese retailers do, such as showz or Bababobo?

 

Love the colors on all the cassettes and the poses that can be pulled off. Ravage's bot mode is giving me a black sheep vibe though.

 

I think I might go with Taobao this time around. 250 is just too much.

 

Kinda weird how Soundwave comes with The Red One instead of Laserbeak...
I guess it\'s so the cassete pack doesn\'t have two of the same mold in it.

I think it is safe to say... or atleast not crazy to say that Producing a Soundwave figure makes FT very nervous.
They Cancelled their first attempt and have re-branded the second. Might explain why they've never made Prime, Megatron, Starscream, or Bumblebee.

Honestly I don't care what they call it or why they do it. I'm going to buy the figure and it will go on my shelf just like my "Zeta" Unicron
